About Santa Ana

Santa Ana, California is located 35 miles southeast of Los Angeles and just southeast of Anaheim. People choose to visit and live in Santa Ana because of the gorgeous weather year-round, beautiful beaches, and stunning backdrop of forests and mountains. All of these perks can be enjoyed both more thoroughly and cheaply when you spend the night in an RV or tent rather than a house or hotel.

To enjoy the beaches, Doheny State Beach is the perfect option. It has 122 campsites near the beach, 30 of which are actually on it. Though it allows RV parking, it unfortunately doesn’t have RV hookups. Those needing RV hookups on the beach should head to San Clemente State Beach. It’s 30 miles south of Santa Ana, but the site makes up for it by being excellent for fishing, swimming, surfing, snorkeling, and scuba diving.

Savvy museum goers will be satisfied with the abundant amount of museums and historical sites Santa Ana has to offer. As far as museums go, check out the Bowers Museum of Cultural Art and the Lyon Air Museum. If you’re able to find it, the tucked away Heritage Museum of Orange County will provide you with a glimpse of what life was like for previous generations living in the area.
