About Beaverlodge

Beaverlodge is a town in northern Alberta, Canada. It is located on Highway 43, 43 km (27 mi) west of Grande Prairie and 48 km (30 mi) east of the British Columbia border. The town is well known for its Beaverlodge municipal airport and the notorious Beaverlodge/Devon landfill site.

Activities

Recreational activities, camping, hiking as well as mountain biking are popular in Beaverlodge. Some of the many trails are the Beaverlodge Trail (Yellowhead Trail), The Piney River Trail, The Potash Road Trail, and the trails to the nearby Wapiti ranges. There is also a small golf course that features nine holes. The Beaverlodge Municipal Airport is the primary airport in the area. One of the benefits of this airport is its location. Many large airlines have offices in Grande Prairie, and because of this, to get to the city, you would have to drive through downtown Grande Prairie. Thanks to being located close to Grande Prairie, there is easy access especially for flights that fly into that airport. It is also a very handy location because it's only 25 minutes away from Edmonton International Airport as well as Calgary International Airport. This means that if you are coming from either of those cities you only need to take one short Calgary drive where you can be out of town within less than one hour.

Food

There is a restaurant, snack bar, and gift shop in the Airport. The place itself is known to have great cuisines and mouth-watering dishes!

Health & Hospitality

The Beaverlodge Hospital is 1.1 km (0.7 mi) from the airport. A hospital in Grande Prairie, a 60-minute drive to the east, is further away than a health center in Edmonton and Calgary, which are less than one hour away.

Utilities & Culture

Beaverlodge does not have its own local power or water system but there are several wells and hydrants throughout the town with water drawn at these hydrants to supply water for home and commercial use and also to heat homes during summer months. There are three mobile home parks in Beaverlodge as well as several RV parks.
