The most extreme visitors to the area arrive here in order to climb or visit the areas around Midway Mountain, a lesser-explored destination than its neighbor to the east, Mount Whitney. There is plenty to do, however, for those who don’t entertain the notion of scaling one of California’s highest peaks. In fact, the area surrounding Midway Mountain is enough for most visitors. There’s plenty to see around Badger, if you know where to look. Most folks head right up the Generals Highway to visit the General Sherman Tree, one of the world’s tallest. The Lodgepole Visitor Center and Wuksachi Lodge link to different trails that wind through these ancient forests and meadows that draw thousands to their roots each year, heads turned skyward. To get up to speed on the history and naturalism of the area, be sure to stop by the Giant Forest Museum and Beetle Rock Education Center. To the north of Badger, the town of Wilsonia and Grant Grove Village are home to the General Grant Tree and the Kings Canyon National Park Visitor Center.

Regardless of the level of adventure your and your group intend to have, Badger RV park and campgrounds have something for every kind of camper. And the surrounding areas continue to draw folks by the thousands who long to stand beneath the giant trees that make the area famous.
