The Texas State Railroad Campground is located in the beautiful East Texas town of Rusk and is a great spot for a fun southern escape! We offer campsites with water only, water and electricity or full hookups with 50-amp service and sewer. The Grounds offer picnic tables, grills, fire rings, laundry facility and WiFi! There are separate showers and restrooms onsite, a water splash pad, nature trails and a campground office complete with sundries and firewood for purchase. The 15-acre Cherokee Lake is where fishermen will find a variety fish including crappie, catfish, striped bass, sauger, walleye, smallmouth bass, bluegill and largemouth bass. Whether they are casting, spinning or flying fish, chances of getting a bite are good! Onsite, travelers may look forward to historic sightseeing. For the history buff, there's plenty of other historic sites, a number of green spaces of nature walks and scenic viewing and of course, visitors may expect great local eateries and bars to enjoy. There's  pecan trees to provide shade for shore-side picnicking and swimming, and there's also plenty of space on the water for kayaking, paddle boarding and canoeing. Now open is our café serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Just beyond the campground is a number of other attractions including: Pioneer Village, the Pearce Museum, Angelita Vineyard and Winery, Navarro Mills Lake, Canterbury Court Antiques, Corsicana Field Aviation Heritage Foundation Museum and fishing charters and tours. This is a gated park on Lake Whitney. It is right down the street from the marina and boat launch for a convenient getaway or lake life living. We have 56 sites all with 50/30 amps, water and sewer connections. We also have a great community room with a full kitchen, TV, and pool table. There is a laundry room and shower rooms. We also have a bunk house for rent. If you need extra storage while staying with us we also have storage buildings for rent along with boat and trailer parking.
