While in downtown Gulfport, head for the harbor and climb aboard a ship to take in the gulf coast from the water. You can charter a boat for fishing, pirate a sailboat and sail to Gulf Shores, or if you prefer activities on land, check out a local casino. Speaking of Gulf Shores, it’s about two hours from Gulfport and requires driving through the always enchanting Mobile, Alabama. Nearby casinos in Biloxi are another option for folks who don’t want to drive all the way out to Gulf Shores.
