Rainbow Lake is a town in the Alberta region. It is about 220 kilometers northwest of Edmonton and 20 kilometers south of Fort McMurray. The town is located on the banks of the Athabasca River and Rainbow Lake.
The population of Rainbow Lake is about 1,000 people, though this number fluctuates greatly with tourists during the summer months.

-The closest airport is in Grande Prairie, Alberta, but the only outbound flights are Canadian North operated flights to Fort McMurray and Whitehorse, Yukon Territories.
-The main line of transportation around Rainbow Lake is via bus, which is run by Greyhound Canada. There are two departures from the town every day running at 10:00 am and 1:00 pm. The cost to Rainbow Lake is $10 for adults, and $5 for seniors, children, and students (if they show a valid student card). These buses only go to Grande Prairie but there are also buses that run from Edmonton to the town that connects with the bus going to Grande Prairie.
