About Oyen
Oyen is a town in the province of Alberta, Canada. It is located on Highway 43, approximately 150 km northeast of Edmonton and approximately 60 km southwest of Grande Prairie. The town's population in 2011 was 1,212 residents. The name Oyen comes from the Cree word "oim", meaning "echoes", likely due to the reverberations that can be heard from nearby waterfalls.
