The Chugach National Forest is one of the most scenic and expansive forests in the state. It covers several areas, and includes many geologic features, such as glaciers, rivers, lakes, mountains and shorelines. Chenega is tucked inside this beautiful forest, so it has the offering of a lot of special outdoor activities. Since, it’s surrounded by a water, you can also enjoy boating or canoeing. Chenega is also a part of Kenai Fjords National park, which like Chugach offers scenic views of beautiful views of Alaska – glaciers and mountains are abound. The park and Chugach forest are also home to one of the largest American Bald Eagle populations in the United States.
