Small park and mostly monthly residents but it served it purpose for us. Owner and camp host were very accommodating when our first site had no power they moved us to a pull through.

When first arriving it was a bit confusing as to whether it was a rv camp or a permanent rv residential place. However, the spot that we were in had excellent shade and was a pull thru with full hook up for an extremely reasonable price. The owner Mark introduced himself as we were leaving and asked how the stay was and truly seemed to want the experience to be as good as possible for us. We were extremely pleased with the friendliness of the host, and the security that our rig was safe while we were away and safe for women traveling alone.

This place is a complete dump. The five star reviews left here are a total lie. The dam is broken and there is no water west of Gonzales, thus no fish or fishing. Everything is dried up, but they somehow don’t tell you that anywhere. We showed up and the place is completely unkept. Needed to be mowed and someone had stollen the breaker out of the electrical box. Even though we booked in advance it was like they were shocked we showed up. The place is mainly occupied by full timers and locals who don’t want anyone else around. To make it worse we even had to chase thieves away from our truck one night. If you book be sure you are armed, and don’t select the option to have firewood supplied as will just take your money and not deliver.

Campground Response

The guest arrived the day after the Lake Dam had malfunctioned. We addressed the electrical issue right away. The guest did not ask for the firewood that was already packaged and waiting on the patio for them.. All of our reviews are real and we welcome all. We have been open for over a year and have made thousands of campers happy! We all know that ultimately there will be someone who you just cannot make happy. This is that someone. Just telling it like it really is.

We rented 3 campers & a RV spot. 4 families together. We had the pavilion which made it super nice with the 2 days of rainfall. The owner & his son are super helpful & went above & beyond to make our stay very special. They have a boat ramp for small boats & the also have boat rentals & kayaks. Definitely going back again

We had a wonderful weekend, and the fishing area is beautiful. We enjoyed seeing many varieties of wildlife, and kayaking up the river is a must. It’s simply amazing. Mark went out of his way to make sure we enjoyed our stay.

Our fishing trip at Gone fishing rv park was a huge success due to hospitality of the management and owner. Every need we had was met by the staff. They helped with everything from grill equipment to fishing lures and poles. With the efforts of the staff our weekend was a great success. I plan many more weekends fishing with them.

Decided to spend the Christmas holiday at Gone Fishin RV Park. Nice size RV for the cost, plenty of room for myself, my husband and our fur baby. internet and tv entertainment were great for the cold nights. Mark and his son are SUPER friendly with a genuine "welcome home" feeling at the RV park. We had access to the BBQ grills, firepit which came in handy at night, and the boats. The Guadalupe river is gorgeous and although we didn't catch any fish, the peaceful and serene views we had, more than made up for it. We will be back!
