Donna Jo Campground

One website says Donna Jo's is permanently closed, this site says it's still open. My parents and siblings and my dad's mom (my grandma) use to camp here 50 yrs ago. 1972 I was 6 yrs old. I remember the owners had a whitetail deer (buck) pend up and they let us kids feed & pet it. We thought it was the coolest thing. I remember my dad would fish a ditch outside the camp. He would catch a cooler of fish, bring them back to the camp, clean them and cook them for dinner the next day. Us kids had a lot of fun at Donna Jo's. We would stay there for weeks at a time. My dad knew the owners back then and instead of us having to leave for 24 hours, The owner would let us stay there as long as we wanted. We stayed for like a month, but then my dad's vacation was over and he had to go back to work. Great memories and if I look hard enough, my mom had pictures of us at Donna Jo's. I have to look for them.
