The Colorado City Lake Campground is located in the beautiful Colorado City and is a great spot for an authentic Texas vacation. The campground is right at Lake Colorado City, and is perfect for scenic viewing, sunset viewing and stargazing, as well as a host of water sports like fishing, boating and paddle boarding. There's also plenty of space on the water for swimming, canoeing, kayaking and acres and acres of space on land for nature viewing, scenic and wildlife viewing, geocaching and birding. Lake Champion is another popular lake nearby on State Highway 208 and there's also the Heart of West Texas Museum, Heritage House, Ruddick Park and numerous antique stores. Events of interest include the annual 4th of July Fly-In; annual Boer Goat Cook-Off; annual St. Ann's Fall Festival; Railhead Arts and Crafts Weekend, the third weekend each March, July and November; annual bass tournament; annual golf tournament; Hunters Appreciation Banquet, held the opening weekend of hunting season; annual Cowboy Breakfast and Old-Timers Reunion; High Plains Junior Rodeo and the Parade and Queen's Contest.
