Chloride is a silver mining ghost town, and home to the Apache Kid RV Park. The park is small and secluded, so take advantage of the wonderful New Mexico quiet and especially the knowledgeable staff who are like walking history books. Some visitors like to visit the nearby cemetery which has some interesting headstones, but everyone should swing by the museum; it's well worth it. The artist coop has excellent displays and all reasonably priced. It's a great place to get souvenirs. There's one beautifully restored historic cabin, so call in early to reserve.

The Black Canyon Campground is located in the Gila National Forest and is a great place to enjoy a peaceful yet engaging southwestern adventure. Lose yourself among the challenging but beautiful mountain trails, and be sure to take in those spectacular New Mexico sunrises and sunsets, and go fishing or boating at the campsite ponds. Campers tent to gravitate toward mountain biking and horseback riding, but there's also plenty to do in Silver City.
