Nestled in the foothills of the NC Mountains, Roaring River Vineyards is reminiscent of a French riverside hillside vineyard. The vineyard is named after the Roaring River which borders the vineyard property for a mile and a half and offers great vistas from all the buildings situated on its riverbank. The RV Campsite at Roaring River Vineyards (RRV) is located in a forested area surrounded by springs and walking trails and has a lovely view of the vineyards. It is situated not far from the vineyard’s entrance just beyond a pond. Since we opened our restaurant we’ve had a number of guests asking us if we allowed RVs to park on our vineyard. As a result, we developed the RV Park at Roaring River Vineyards. Lake Sugar Tree Motorsports is a family sports park for motorcycle riding and racing which is located in Henry County off of HWY. 58 East on State Route 617 Axton, Virginia - Between Martinsville and Danville. The Motocross track has been around for over 30 years, it all started with a few local racers from the Trans Am Series who came to Lake Sugar Tree in the beginning of the 70’s bringing top European rider’s to compete against the top American rider’s. A couple of years later the AMA (American Motorcycle Association) came on board with it’s series, which provide more American verses Europe “best of the best” racing.

We offer RV and tent camping both on a daily and seasonal basis. We have camping available year-round! Our campground has access to a beautiful, pristine pond and acres of woods making it a prime spot for fishing and hunting. *For generations, our campground has been home to hunters, and we embrace the opportunity to honor that tradition. During hunting season (October-December), target practice and shooting will be held on Sundays from 3-6 PM at the dam. Please avoid the lake and lake area during shooting time.  The road is safe to use to access the campground. Practice is limited to monthly and seasonal campers.* The Historic Cold Sulphur Springs Campground dates back to at least the mid-late 1800s, when it was a large, flourishing resort frequented by travelers from near and far. In its heyday, the resort bustled with more than 250 guests who often spent entire summers there playing croquet and enjoying orchestra concerts at the hotel dance hall. They would arrive at the Goshen train station and be brought to the resort by horse and buggy, greeted with ice cold lemonade. Those who visited Cold Sulphur Springs, doctors especially, attributed miraculous medicinal benefits to the water, recommending it as a cure for a variety of ailments and encouraging patients to visit. The Goshen Land and Improvement company even used these testimonials as a marketing tool to attract visitors, claiming “The Cold Sulphur Springs is pronounced by leading physicians and chemists as the finest water in the state. We have in our possession testimonies from leading physicians north and south to that effect.” However, the 1900s brought the onset of World War I and the advent of the automobile, allowing Americans to travel freely to a variety of locations without the need to summer for months at one resort. These factors caused the hotel at Cold Sulphur Springs to lose patrons and eventually meet its demise through fire and other means of destruction.  Today, the grounds provide a simpler kind of hospitality. Cold Sulphur Springs is a place for travelers from all walks of life to camp, fish, swim, boat, hike, and more. While little remains of the old hotel, the historic Spring House is still in tact at the campground, as are some remnants of original building foundations.  We invite you to explore the wonder that is the Historic Cold Sulphur Springs Campground and see the beauty that lies within.

Welcome to Middle Creek Campground! We are nestled back in a holler of the Blue Ridge Mountains at the foot of Fork Mountain. Set your compass for adventure. We are close to an abundance of outdoor adventures! Including the upper James River, the Appalachian Trail and The Blue Ridge Parkway. We are the care-takers of a small, rural, mountain campground and blessed to live among such beauty and be able to share it with like minded individuals and families. We offer 30 and 30/50 amp sites. All have water and electric. We also have some full hookups (sewer). We accommodate tents and hammocks to buses. Yes, as in 55' tour bus. It all depends on the driver. Located 6.2 country miles from I81 at exit 168 or just under 7 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway at MM 89/90 (Powell's Gap), or about 15 miles by Rt. 43 through Buchanan. Situated about 30 miles north of the Roanoke/Salem area and all they offer; and about 15 miles south of Lexington along the 81 corridor.The road in is a 6.2 mile asphalt VDOT approved country road. It winds through some of the most beautiful and diverse scenery. You''ll cross the James River, you will cross over the railroad track and then pass through Arcadia proper into the Jefferson National Forest. For about 2 miles you'll wind along Jennings Creek. Depending on the season it is an array of God's beauty. The last mile is from Jennings Creek to the Camp along Middle Creek Road. You will climb one mile to an elevation of 1158' along this state owned and maintained rural mountain road to Camp. Phone reception depends on your carrier, Verizon or US Cellular usually have good service. HOWEVER, the campground is in the shadow of Fork Mountain and reception in the lower campground service can be very limited. We do try to provide Wi-Fi, but it is satellite and VERY limited. If you need Wi-Fi, look into your options for bringing what you need. AT&T picks up in the upper campground and near the pool.
