VIP Vintage Grove

Located in our communal Vintage VIP section of camp in a shady grove are Gypsy Gene our 1956 Schiebout Little Gem camper and Beauty a VW Weekender Westfalia Wolfsburg edition camper van. Both are restorations in process, but are super cute, clean, and fun. Meant for romantics who appreciate things with some age and who know how to treat a delicate lady. As such, we do not allow pets or children at these sites. They share a fire pit under the trees and have a view of the pond, as well as, our resident goats, and are a two minute walk from our lovely bath house and camp store. They are the pride and joy of Camp Holly owner and vintage enthusiast Misha. Previously, this section of camp was reserved for our friends and family, but we feel it's too cool not to share.

Confluence Tent Sites

Camping at the confluence is about a five minute walk from the bathhouse, camp store, and parking. You may borrow our wagon to cart your gear to your site. Each site has its own access from the pond. Each site has a fire ring, and everyone shares a picnic table at the confluence. Well behaved, leashed pets are welcome as long as the owners clean up after them. Sites are best suited for two-four people with tents smaller than 8x10. Sites are a few feet from the water. Site #17 is a bit larger and closer to the pond. There is an awesome swimming hole at the confluence. Sleep between the pond and the river on the back side of camp, or stay up all night fishing in the pond. The confluence is one of the special places on the property.

Lovers Lane Tent Sites

Named because there is a heart shape on a tree in the back, but the secluded sites are for lovers or just friends.  About an 8 minute walk from our bathhouse and bait shop  over two hills leads you back to farthest point in camp along the Holly River. With a swimming hole, and undercut rock you can relax outside of the wifi zone listening to the water.  An outhouse is just a short walk down the trail, and you are on a dead end trail unless you care to bushwhack uphill to connect to the hiking path. This space is suitable for two people and a smaller 6x8ish tent. There are two campsites along the trail, each with a fire pit and rocks.

Woodchopper's Overlook Deluxe Tent Site

The Backcountry Woodchopper Tent Sites are at the edge of the property bordered by Pete’s Pond, cliffs, and the Holly River. It is the most secluded part of camp accessed by a short 5-7 minute hike from the camp store and bathhouse into the fern lined woods or a slightly longer and flatter stroll around Pete’s Pond.

Group Tent Sites

Our two Gypsy Group camp sites are on the river next to the Hammock Hostel. Conveniently located near the outhouse, but only about a five minute walk to the camp store and bath house. 4-wheel drive is required drive directly to the sites, but alternatively, we can help you tractor things to the site if you ask. There is a large fire pit in the middle and one in each site. A common picnic table is shared in the space, as is the beach and swimming area during higher water. This is a great place for medium sized groups of friends to all camp together, it will also be considered General Admission camping during festivals, and events. Riverside camping at its finest amongst the trees and ferns.

Hammock Hostel

Tents cannot be pitched in the Hammock Hostel area - hammock camping only! Adjacent to the Gypsy Group sites is the Hammock Hostel. Camping in the hostel is a great way to camp out for the least amount of money: only $10! You get two trees of your choosing and a communal fire pit and picnic table. Located next to our two group sites next to the Holly River behind the pond. No car parking, and its about a five minute walk up or down two small hills out to the bathhouse and camp store. There is a primitive outhouse across the way, and the area may be a little muddy when it rains really hard.

Be Kind

Our #1 rule - Please, respect your fellow campers and the campground surroundings. Help us ensure everyone gets to relax and have fun pondside!

Leave No Trace

We ask that you leave no trace after your stay at Camp Holly as our sites are built within the beauty of Appalachia. Please take all trash to the dumpster in the parking lot by the camp entrance when you leave. NO OUTSIDE FIREWOOD: DO NOT BRING OUTSIDE FIREWOOD. We are located in a forestry area with old growth forest and a community who’s prosperity is directly tied to those trees. Help us keep the forests healthy and free of foreign pests and disease. We sell generous-sized (larger than two pre-wrapped firewood bundles) squares for $10 in the camp store.

Pet Rules

Only bring your kind pets. Pets must get along with others if you bring them to camp. Keep your pet on their leash at all times and clean up after them. We love pets and have several including goats, chickens, two tractor shed kitties, a dog, and a duck. For their safety and the safety of all camp guests even sweet pups need to be leashes at all times.

Camp owners were great. Checked in with us, assuring we had everything we needed. Sites are spacious, bath houses are new, tiled, and spotless. Beautiful setting. Will be returning in warm weather with more campers to enjoy the entertainment!

Campground Response

Thanks for taking the time to leave us such a kind review. We look forward to seeing you and your crew pondside next season!

Alan Katz

We were the only ones there, (10/16-17) probably a nice place in the warmer months. Nice setting.

Campground Response

It was nice meeting you. I hope you’ll come back next summer during one of our event weekends!

Dena Brezo

Bad experience. The cabin was filthy. I couldn’t reach anyone. I had to use cleaning supplies and towels and blankets from my family that live down there. I have contacted them thru email twice now and no response. It was completely disgusting and very obvious that it had not been cleaned. There was still coffee in the coffee pot. I want my money back

Campground Response

The cabin was cleaned the day of your arrival and our cleaning staff usually does an excellent job. All linens and towels are washed between guests. I personally went in your cabin and turned on the heat to ensure your late check-in would be cozy and while, I may have also have overlooked a dirty coffee pot, the cabin was not “filthy.” I’m sorry, if the coffee pot was overlooked. We live on site and would have been happy to have done whatever we could to make your stay better had you simply spoke to us. You passed us repeatedly in your car and smiled and waved giving us no indication of your dissatisfaction. Also, I discovered our ceiling fan was broken during your stay, but I didn’t charge you or plan to bring it to your attention because accidents happen. As a small business in a small community your false review, which is the first negative review we have had in our two years of business, has lasting consequences. We hope you will think a bit more before behaving in this fashion in the future and wish you better travels elsewhere.

We had a great time staying two nights for the Appalachian Heritage Festival. The campground is very well kept, the bath house is convenient and very well maintained and Misha and Zave are excellent hosts. We stayed in the Bela A frame and it was very comfortable. A great time for the whole family!

Campground Response

The heritage festival weekend was one of my most favorites of the season. We plan on doing it again next year. Hope to see y’all then!

Laura Oliver

Beautiful camp, beautiful area! Staff was very friendly and responsive. The grounds and bathroom were immaculate! The only downside was the road noise that came from the road on the other side of the creek.

Campground Response

Thanks for camping with us, Laura!

Sebrena Hall

Absolutely, an amazing camping and fishing experience for the whole family! The cabin we stayed in was fully furnished and very comfy, complete with linens. The owners Zave and Michelle are awesome!! They made all of us feel at home and did their best to make sure we had a great time. But let's not forget the ducks, goats and chickens that roamed around the pond!! Did I mention I had an amazing time!! Definitely recommend!!!

Campground Response

Thanks so much for taking the time to share those kind words. We hope to see y’all pondside again soon!

Ben Geertsema

Excellent place to stay, Zev and Misha are friendly, down to earth folks who run a fantastic campground

Campground Response

The owners were very nice and accommodating. We stayed at the Woodchoppers tent site. The site was spacious with a fire ring and picnic table which we liked. The campground is very pretty and well maintained. The bathhouse is very nice. There is a very nice lake to fish in. They have a paddle boat to use if you wanted to go out on the lake. They have tube floats if you want to float in the river. I would recommend this campground.

Campground Response

Thanks for the detailed review! We hope to see you pondside again, Jerri.

Richard Cantrell

Always such a relaxing environment.

Alesa Foster

We had such an awesome time at camp holly. It was super peaceful and beautiful all around. I loved taking the kayak out on the pond each morning and talking to all the different animals and camp kitties all day. We plan to bring our whole family back sometime!

Christina Cogar

We loved camping right beside of the creek and near the Holly River. They have free range chickens and ducks who love to visit your campsite, which was wonderful! Close driving distance to many beautiful nature areas too. The only downside is the road noise.

Had RV spot 5. Loved the 2-night 3-fay experience. Owners/Operators were great and effective communicators from booking to check-out/rollout. They made our maiden travel trailer pop-in, pop-up and pop-out seemless. Compliments to the master carpentry demonstrated in the bathhouse, A-frame cabins and overall layout of the grounds. Our children and local friends and family loved the Saturday activities offered after returning to camp from boating the 2022 Elk River float from Sutton dam in the morning to starting the crafts with the Camp artisan thru the blue-gill fishing tourney and finishing with an adult-supervised night-time 4-seated paddleboat pond cruise. Plenty of wooded mountain and tree shade and really appreciated the unfinished pine smell of the showerhouse's wooded interior. Very clean, warm water with good pressure and generous toiletries to take a relaxing well deserved shower after RDMO (rigging down moving off) our pop-up.

Love the cabin I was in. We had so much fun fishing and it was very relaxing. The staff is amazing. So glad I chose camy Holly

Oliver Hewitt-Fisher

We had a great stay in the pondside cabin. The campground is peaceful and we enjoyed seeing the chickens, ducks, and goats. Misha was attentive and made check in easy. We were also allowed a late check out which was very helpful. We would highly recommend staying at Camp Holly!

Steve Elliot

Wonderful Hospitality in a beautiful setting that provides something for most everyone. Fishing and boating was great along with the nice walking trails. Nice level spots and great hookups for my camper. The live evening entertainment was a nice touch in the evening.

Campground Response

Thanks for leaving a review, they help us so much! We hope to see y’all pondside again soon!

Second trip back in a week. This overnight was even better than the first and I thought it was fantastic!! Quaint, friendly, and very inviting. Tent and RV sites available along with a few camping structures that can also be rented. Lovely pond for fishing or kayaking and plenty of creeks surrounding to wade or swim in. I love it here!!!

Campground Response

Thanks! We can’t wait to see you again pondside!!!

Sarah Reed

Loved the campground. It was quiet and I didn’t feel like I was camping in a parking lot like many campgrounds. The hosts were awesome. The amenities were perfect. Bathrooms were nice. WiFi was so convenient and consistent. The rushing stream next to our spot made for very relaxing days and evenings. The kids loved the goats and chickens! We plan to come back.

Thanks! We can’t wait to see you again pondside!!!

Great little spot. Rustic, but with the comforts of a nice bathroom and camp store. Their hospitality can't be overstated - super good folks. Will surely come back again.
