Nestled in the foothills of the NC Mountains, Roaring River Vineyards is reminiscent of a French riverside hillside vineyard. The vineyard is named after the Roaring River which borders the vineyard property for a mile and a half and offers great vistas from all the buildings situated on its riverbank. We are a full-service mountain resort with the Chez Josephine Restaurant, Wine & Beer Tasting Room, vacation rentals, event venues, vineyards, truffle field, Harvest Host, and RV Park. The RV Campsite at Roaring River Vineyards (RRV) is located in a forested area surrounded by springs and walking trails and has a lovely view of the vineyards. It is situated not far from the vineyard’s entrance just beyond a pond. Since we opened our restaurant we’ve had a number of guests asking us if we allowed RVs to park on our vineyard. As a result, we developed the RV Park at Roaring River Vineyards.

We feature:

  1. 10 RV sites of various lengths
  2. Gravel roads and large gravel parking sites, a large turn-around area,
  3. A lovely forested setting overlooking the vineyards
  4. 110/30/50 Amp electrical service
  5. A communal dump tank and water source
  6. Free WIFI
  7. Vineyard Tours: based on owner availability (speak to our staff)
  8. Access to restaurants in high season (April 1 - Oct 31): Thursday-Saturday 11 am- 6 pm, Sunday 12 pm- 5 pm.
  9. Access to restaurants in the low season (Nov 1- March 31): Friday-Saturday 11 am- 6 pm, Sunday 12 pm- 5 pm.

As mentioned above we have a lot of attractions on-site and in the local area. One of the biggest attractions is Stone Mountain State Park which attracts close to a million visitors each year and has a massive granite pluton that was created from magma a million and a half years ago. It rises 700 feet above the NC mountain range. We are also located in NC wine country with a large number of vineyards located in the Yadkin Valley Wine Appellation region.

To find other vineyards besides ours please go to the Surry Wineries Website.

Enjoy the local music festivals, seasonal festivals,  distilleries, mountain biking, rock climbing, canoeing and tubing, antiquing, and many more attractions!

Very quiet and peaceful. Tom, the owner is so nice and checked on us each day. Electric only, but we knew that going in. Sites are small and you need to drive to the back and circle around to be able to back in so might be awkward for big rigs. If all of this fits your needs then it a nice place. Oh yeah, try the wine and restaurant! They are great!

Sites are gravel and not level. However the restaurant/tasting staff and owner are super friendly.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because we had to do some crazy maneuvering to get to the dump site.

Beautiful property!!!!! Wonderful staff. Safe & Quiet campground. We met the lovely & helpful owners. They checked on us & told us about several trails and other interesting hidden gems in the area. Those were our favorite. It would be nice if sites had picnic tables. BTW; We prefer the previous restaurant menu. (Especially the nice Pasta & funnel cake fries). The creek view is amazing. The servers & staff were excellent. The ham panini was ok. We will try something else next time.

One of the most quiet and relaxing places ever to stay! We will be back again soon! Super quiet and nothing or no one to bother you.

We booked late for the Memorial Day weekend and lucky for us they had openings. The place is rustically beautiful. The sites had electric only- no water or sewer. Very remote. Sites are really too small and the roads not very good for larger campers.

We really enjoyed our one night stay at Roaring River Vineyards. Had wine and a light dinner on the back porch of the restaurant overlooking the Roaring River and met the owners, very nice people. Campsites are easy to get too, just gravel pads with electric hook-up, but water is available at the dump station. Campsite has creek behind it and 2 ponds in front of campground. Basically a very simple set up, but can be a little swampy after a ton of rain. the gravel pads are high enough to stay dry, just the surrounding area gets a little inundated after a major rain. Walked to the Restaurant and tasting room from the campsite, very convenient. We have a 20 ft teardrop and it was easy to maneuver. A couple of larger trailers and one 28 ft RV were there as well.

Restaurant was great. The people were extremely nice. The RV sites were very close to each other. Turning around to get to the dump station was extremely difficult with a long camper.

This is not an RV park but an electric hook up. It would be great just as a harvest host but nothing more at the moment. The grass was long the sites are small there really is no view at all. No trash cans and to charge a premium price for this is really ridiculous. This property at 65.00 dollars a night for absolutely nothing is just wrong. We left a day early. If you come here do not expect an RV park or anything of what you think is an RV park. Think elec hook up and quiet. That is it that is what you get. The gentleman who came out to great us told us LOL if you sign up for harvest host it's 40 dollars for electric. Thank you but we are retired military and Harvest Host does not benefit us. I think they are great but not for everyone especially those of us who are not full time. Your property is a perfect Harvest Host though because they just promise a nights stay in a unique venue nothing more nothing less. The one caveat is it is quiet and the wifi worked well if you are closer to the vineyard. Side note the winery itself is beautiful and the grounds on the winery side are lovely. Which is why it should only be a Harvest Host site and maybe charge 20.00 bucks for electric. @TheGunnyandTheGrandma

5 stars all the way. Awesome place to stay the night. Easy access to property. The restaurant was on property and the food, excellent. The 2021 Pinot Grigio wine is a must try. We bought some to bring home. Highly recommend a stay at Roaring River Vineyards.

Amazingly beautiful property with all the amenities you could want - vineyards, lodging, restaurant, rv park and a great owner who takes the time to ensure you enjoy your stay. We showed up at 4:30pm on a day they were not open to park our RV overnight only to be greeted by the owner and invited to a complimentary wine tasting. Enjoyed his hospitality for an hour after making a wine purchase - delicious! We will be back - highly recommended!

Great little quaint quiet location to get away. The wine produced on location was fantastic, we bought 4 bottles.

We were very impressed with this campground/vineyard! It's a truly beautiful setting and everyone there couldn't have been nicer or any more accommodating. We have a rather large rig (38' fifth wheel) and it was a little challenging to get in and out but overall the sites (brand new) were nice, level, and we enjoyed it very much! Restaurant is excellent and features a short but solid menu. Will definitely visit again!

The place is a lovely setting. Be advised that there is no water or dump station available on this premises. We filled the water tank in our camper before leaving our house and had to look for a campground in the area for a dump station we could use. Bathroom facilities are only available when the restaurant and tasting room are open. Once again, glad we filled our water tank before leaving our house. The price we paid for 2 nights was very high for nothing but electric. If updates are made for water access and bathroom or dump station availability it would be a nice place to spend a night or two.

Campground Response

What an unfair review since our RV site clearly states that we have power and WIFI only. So if you had read the information about our site you would have known this fact. The review should not be about water and a dump station since it was disclosed. We have not received any complaints from our other RV guests since they come prepared. The review should have been about your experience outside of that and it seemed that you otherwise enjoyed your stay. We developed this TV Park because we received many requests from RVers who wanted to stay in our vineyard. We are in the heart of NC wine country, near the Blue Ridge Parkway, and close to Stone Mountain State Park and we are a tourism destination.
