At an 8,300 foot elevation, the campground enjoys mild weather conditions and fresh breezes. The Arroyo Hondo Recreation is located in the beautiful city of Taos, New Mexico and is a great spot for your next southwestern vacation. The Rio Bravo RV Park is located in Pilar, New Mexico and is great for its proximity to nearby attractions. Take a day trip Taos or Santa Fe and enjoy the southwest culture and historical beauty of these towns, plenty of great local dining, festivals and shopping. Near the park, campers can enjoy the quiet and serenity of bighorn sheep country, as well as breathtaking views around the various hiking trails. 

The Elephant Rock Campground is located in the Carson National Forest, and is well-known for the Red River and Eagle Rock Lake being nearby. Campers can look forward to excellent fishing at the lakes, as well as opportunities for kayaking, swimming and boating. Visitors can also expect great hiking trails and large open areas for picnicking and exploring. The area is thick with thriving forestry, so prepare for some spectacular views, and occasional bird or deer roaming the mountain regions. 

The June Bug is located in the Red River Canyon in a gorgeous spruce-ponderosa forest. Fall in love with this New Mexico oasis at this park where you will find plenty of picnic tables and acres and acres of raw forest for exploration. There are also trails for hiking and biking, and wide open skies for stargazing. Be sure to look up at dawn and dusk to catch one of those iconic New Mexico sunrises or sunsets. The trees almost seem to absorb the noises around you, so look forward to a peaceful, relaxing getaway. 

The Pilar Campground is a beautiful space to escape the hustle and bustle of life and embrace nature. Look forward to acres of gorgeous desert vista, streams and hills for hiking and biking. The town of Taos is also relatively close by, so be sure to swing by for supplies, shopping and plenty of local eateries to get a feel for the culture of the state. The area is also perfect for stargazing at night and catching those spectacular New Mexico sunrises and sunsets. 

Ponil Campground is located in northern New Mexico at the foot of the Rocky Mountains. Philmont Scout Ranch is the Boy Scouts of America’s largest National High Adventure Base, welcoming boy scouts and their families to go on adventures connected to nature. It covers 140,177 acres of rugged mountain wilderness in the Sangre de Cristo range of the Rocky Mountains in northeastern New Mexico. Most activities take place during the summer, but Philmont also offers programs during the offseason such as Autumn and Winter Adventure.
