About Conroe

Conroe, Texas Campgrounds and RV Parks

Nestled on the outskirts of Houston, just north of The Woodlands, Conroe is considered a part of the Houston Metropolitan area. Sam Houston National Forest is just to the northeast, while scenic Lake Conroe is to the Northwest. Conroe has the benefits of a big city with the relaxing vibes of the outdoors. There are plenty of RV parks and campgrounds to enjoy an extended stay in this beautiful area.

Fifteen miles Northeast, just off I-45 S, is Lake Conroe. Made as an alternate water supply for Houston in 1970, this 21,000 acre lake boasts the possibility for multiple water activities, including boating, water skiing, swimming, rafting, and canoeing. After a full day of activities, you can hop off the lake and into your RV at the Lake Conroe RV and Camping Resort. The resort offers a clubhouse, whirlpool/hot tub and even WiFi.

After water activities, head over to Sam Houston National Forest. One of only four Forests in Texas, Sam Houston is one of the most popular destinations in the state. There are many hiking trails and campgrounds within the park. Just outside the park, there are the River Valley RV Park and the DeMontrond RV Park.
