The cabins are nasty the bed had large urine stain on it . It is a scam that is why they have a no refund policy because once you see it you will want your money back. We left and even losing the money was better than staying there. It should not have a good sams sign

As a private campground, it has more amenities than most other campgrounds. The host was very helpful and kind. Perfect location for visiting the casino or the mountains. We had a great time.

Arrived Thursday for a king Memorial Day Holiday. We left Saturday. Between constant power issues, and raw sewage below the pool area, I did not pay that amount of money to be so unsafe and unsanitary for my family. Will be filing a dispute with my credit card company. Seems to also be a haven for transients. Tried to contact office workers, but nobody ever answered the phone nor in the office. What a dive.

Campground Response

sorry about your stay. We had a broken pipe and moved the campers that were in the area and fixed the problem asap. we don’t have any electrical problems on the campground you must have over loaded the 30 amp breaker.

Live electrical wires hanging from the boxes, sewage on the ground, and junkies living here fulltime. If you stay, ensure the doors are locked at night. In our weeklong stay recently, the sheriff was there three times. Nobody there to run the office either, except a nasty woman.

Campground Response

sorry you had to write duch a bad review without first contacting me to discuss and resolve your issues. If it was such a bad place why did u stay for a week? I don’t agree with your accusations our campground us up to date and beautiful with none if your issues.

Where to start. We have a 40 foot coach and was promised level sites, easy access to walk our very old dog. This was not what we arrived to. The road going in didn't have proper clearance for a large coach and when we arrived Our site number was changed to a site that was very unlevel. If you know anything about a large coach they have slides our coach was equipped with four slides. This site was unable to accommodate the coach without the slides out. We had an immediate drop-off from our steps that our dog couldn't even get out of the bus. While going back to the office as my husband was pulling carefully out of the site with another drop off at the end of what is supposed to be a pull thru, we met a man and he got another man. They were both quite nice and understood our dilemma. I asked for a refund and the older man identified as the owner said yes ma'am. Here is the office lady coming now. She was in a nice way SOMETHING ELSE! Her language and profanity was over the top and she said there was no way in HELL I was getting my money back. Instead of engaging with this woman any further (as with someone like that it's just better to walk away and we left. I have emailed and asked for a refund as we didn't stay. We moved down the road a little further and found a very nice level campground that our old great dane was able to get out of the bus and finally go potty after the long ride up. While this campground would be acceptable for a pop up camper it was not acceptable for a $300,000.00 four slide coach! I will keep you posted if we get the refund. They have 10 days according to my credit card company. If I do not get the refund I will be filing a complete dispute outlining everything in the 15 minutes we were there. Here is the response I received: hey Beth this is Cindy I have no problem giving you a refund and we had discussed the situation before you came in and you could’ve canceled but you came anyway and I’m giving you a refund but let me tell you I don’t appreciate how you treat my help do you know how hard it is to find people to work and you berated her and you were irate and yelling and screaming in her face that was uncalled for and I do think that you owe Marie an apology so I would like for you to call her or send her a letter of apology because that was uncalled for I know you were upset but you don’t take it out of my help you can take it out on me if I’ll take it which I won’t but that was totally totally uncalled for and you need to make restitution towards it because I don’t wanna lose my help because of customers like you Here is where the lie begins: First off I have inflammation on my vocal chords, of which I have been under doctors care since July 3rd. I barely have a voice let alone be able to scream. Marie is nothing but a drama queen making it out to be that I am a nightmare when this is completely untrue. By 4pm I literally have no voice. There is no way I can scream or yell as she stated. BEWARE of this campground. It’s absolutely the bottom of the barrel and with this new response leads me to believe that the owners are in the same category as Marie.

Campground Response

we are sorry you had a bad experience and we did refund your money. you could have stayed in another pull thru spot but your extreme conditions and your attitude was uncalled for to my manager.

Some of these pictures are not the Fort Wilderness in Whittier NC. Very misleading. A lot of people live in this park that is not maintained. Was told my Rv would fit. It did but I had no where to park my truck except for a site with no power but if it had power I still had no location for my truck. Friendly people but very misleading.

Campground Response

we are sorry that you felt mislead our pictures are accurate and you must have been looking at dusney fortwilderness pictures. Have a nice day

Very dirty, falling a part. We lost our monthly rent and deposit. Would NEVER recommend the place. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Campground Response

This was probably a nice camp ground once upon a time. It is run down. Stayed here back in the Fall. Only had 1 bath house open and it was always nasty and very out dated. I had to call to complain on day 2 before the bathhouse was cleaned by one of the full time residents. She spent hours cleaning a small bathhouse, that tells you how nasty it was. It has 90% full time run down trailers (especially up on the hill). Also it was common to see a 'lot lizard' walking around late evening and early next AM. No one was ever in the office. They call you before you arrive and instruct you to call a lady who drives over to meet you, check you in and then is gone. Would never stay there.

Campground Response

sorry but you must have stayed at another campground.

Stay away from this park. Rude and obnoxious manager. Electric is totally danger to your rv. (95v)Lots are dirty and hard to get in.

Campground Response

Stay away from this horrible camper. He was the worst complainer we ever had. He complained and complained and complained I told him to leave and everyone on the campground was so happy he left especially me

If I could give a 0 I would. This is our 1st family RV road trip and we rented a spot for the 4th of July. When we arrived my husband went to check in and they gave him a different site # then what I reserved on Reserve America. I walked in to speak with Manager and the lady at the desk said she was the Owner. I informed her that this was not the site we selected. Her response was, you just reserved today and the person on the site you selected has been there for a week. Do you think I would move them for your 1 night stay. I was shocked that the owner would speak to a customer like this especially since this is a valid question. I told her that I reserved a few days ago and she said her system and Reserve America system do not always communicate well. I informed her we had small children and the reason I selected that specific site was it was near bathroom and pool. She said if I didn't like it she would refund me and I could go elsewhere. I said I couldn't risk it since it was the 4th of July. The site was not clean, has tree debris all over the place. After staying at several KOA locations I would never suggest a place like this.

Campground Response

I apologize for the inconvience of having to move to another site. We try to accommodate our guests but sometimes we are unable to and always try to find a solution and we did for this very nasty aggressive guest. We put her next to the site she wanted and her kids had a fun and happy day. I was ready to call the police because of her behavior. July 4th weekend is always crazy as campers know. We do invite you back again on a less than busy day such as July 4th.
