So all the Asheville RV parks were booked (Fall colors season) and we found this place had openings. And we were super happy being out in the countryside at this quiet lil park. It’s only 17 min. from Asheville and the Biltmore but just 5 beautiful, slow, curvy miles and 2500’ up to the Blue Ridge Pkwy and many waterfalls to explore up there. (No trailers up that road leading to the BRP but the winding road up to it starts just beyond the Park). It’s a pretty drive, or a great climb/decent on a bicycle. **Come into the park from Asheville/Candler NOT the BRP if you have a trailer or big rig. The RV park is kind of on a slight hill and therefore the sites are terraced with a gravel road and site pads. It’s not flat or smooth but totally doable. Could use some arrows or site map to direct better into the sites if Dan isn’t around. The site layout is such that two rigs go in the same very long stretch making up two spaces. The first rig could just pull thru. If a second comes in, the electrical/water is oriented for them to drive straight in behind the first rig and then maneuver your truck (for 5’rs and bumper pulls) out of the spot via the grass. Or you could go back to back and run your utilities under your rig. All types of RVs were coming and going just fine. Dan, the owner was super friendly and low key. Cell signal was very poor. We used our booster and got a stronger Verizon signal. There’s wifi too but we did not try it.

Dan made our trip so seamless. Beautiful views. Close proximity to mostly everything! Only con: Neighbors dogs. Dogs would be left outside ... essentially barked the whole time. That became a little much at times but overall would come back. Thank you for hosting our family Dan!

Campground Response

Thanks for review. I wish there was a solution to my neighbors dogs.

Gorgeous, clean park. Beautiful views of the mountains and all the stars at night. The campground host was very helpful and nice and when we originally tried to book his campground next door, he said he didn't have a site there but did have one at this new park. We booked kind of last minute and I am so glad we did. Lots of room for kids and dogs. Super convenient access to Blue Ridge Parkway and Asheville. Hiking just a short drive away. Will definitely be back. The only thing I would be wary of is the neighbors in houses have loose dogs which are not aggressive but if you have territorial dogs it could be a headache.

Campground Response

Thanks for the kind words. As you probably know neighbors and their .dogs are hard to deal with .

Michael Lewis

A small but very nice campground. Dan the owner was very helpful. Met us when we arrived and took us to our site. It was very close to the Blue Ridge Parkway where we hiked and saw breathtaking views. Only 30 minutes to downtown Asheville and close to a grocery store. We’ll be back.

Campground Response

Thank you for the kind words . Dan

Jill Fyock

It’s nice to find an affordable campground with full hookups, close to Asheville, an incredible view, and friendly hosts. Don’t miss out on turning right as you leave the campground and take the short drive up the mountain to the Blue Ridge Pkwy for epic scenery! No ATT cell service, but the WiFi in the park is great!

Robert Penny

The site could have been alot more level .The WiFi was good the hookups were brand new and you will never beat the sunrise and sunsets.Dan was a great host

Campground Response

Thank you for coming Rober t . I'm still working on those lots. Dan

Simple, no frills and a great eastern view of the sunrise. Amazing view of the stars will be a lasting memory! No AT&T signal but just enough internet to pull email! Dan is great to work with and likely will meet you at the gate when you arrive! We will be back!

Campground Response

Christopher, thank you for the review and look forward to seeing you again. Dan

Mark Halverson

Wow - what a view! Only 15 mins from almost anything needed yet a million miles from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Dan was accommodating and attentive. The spaces are a comfortable distance from neighbors and the electric, water and sewer all work great. The ride in and out is bumpy so secure your belongings accordingly. The only problem we had was AT&T phone service is nonexistent (Verizon is fine and WiFi works) and because we still work full-time we couldn’t stay as long as we wanted. Once we transition to retirement and aren’t tied to a phone we will definitely be back.

Campground Response

Mark, thanks for staying with us and the kind remarks. Please come back. Dan

This is a new RV park in an amazing location with beautiful mountain views. It is an easy drive down the Pisgah Hwy. We arrived and were greeted by the owner who made us feel right at home. The sites have full hook ups with Wi-Fi available and plenty of channels on the digital antenna. It was a great base camp for us to then ride our motorcycles from being only 4.5 miles from the Blue Ridge Pkwy. Very nice, clean, and quiet. We can not wait to go back this Fall.

Campground Response

Terry, thank you for the nice review. I saw that you had leave early due to hurricane in Florida. I hope that you did not have any damage. I would be glad refund your 2 days or give you credit in the fall. Dan

A sweet spot just a 15 minute drive from the Blue Ridge Parkway. We visited for a quiet 4th of July weekend on what I think was one of the first few weeks the RV park was open. The water, electricity, and septic all worked like a charm. There are few enough spaces and enough space between campers to not feel too crowded in. The wifi connection was spotty at times, but I think that will improve with time once the park is a bit more established. Overall, a charming and peaceful experience with beautiful views of the mountains and plenty of fireflies at night.

Campground Response

Thank you for your review of my new RV park. I have added a booster and antenna to improve the wifi since you were here. I hope you will visit us again. Dan

The owner of this park is 100% about customer service! I can’t even begin to say how helpful he was. Beautiful Mountain View’s and conveniently located. You may want to bring extra long hoses because hookups are on the wrong side on some sites.

Campground Response

Lisa, sorry about your hookup issue. The RV sites are pull in or back in for logistics to hookup so there should not be a need for longer hoses. Thank you for visiting and come again soon. Dan

Dolores Madden

We stumbled across this campground when the campground we originally booked had an unfortunate septic issue which directly impacted our site. I called Stony Fork Creek RV Park knowing that it was probably a long shot right before the July 4th weekend. The owner, Dan O'Kelly, called me right back and when I explained my situation he told me he would check and call back. No more than 10 minutes later he called and told me that he had just opened a new campground literally right across the street and he had a couple spots open. We jumped on it, booking a full hookup pull through site and a few hours later we were pulling in to our new home for the next 5 days. This campground had just opened the week before and some projects were still in progress but nothing that impacted our stay. There is no bathhouse but being self-contained this did not pose a problem. The campground in nestled at the bottom on Mt. Pisgah. It made an excellent home base for our explorations of nearby Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway. The owner is one of the nicest people I've met and really made an extra effort to make sure that all of his guests were comfortable and had what they needed.

Campground Response

Thank you, Delores. Hope to have you visit again. DAN
