Great place to stay, food and restaurant is real good, an excellent menu. There was some water problems but they've been all solved with the new well, can't wait to get back up there and stay some more

The water in the park has a lot of Sulphur in the system and it make the whole cabin smell like sewer. It's hard to even take a shower. As far as location it was nice. You are close to town if you need anything. I stayed in Cabin 3 kinda away from the main park, thinking it would be a little quieter. But about 4:45am the traffic started for a tournament check in and it sounded like I was on a interstate. Not good at all. The outside of the cabins could use some pest control. The spider webs are really bad. I understand a few but this was more than a few.

Campground Response

Hi Jeff, we do apologize for the water. We have just recently had a new well drilled and piped into the system this week. The water no longer has the Sulphur smell in it. The water is clear and smells great now. As far as the pests, we do try to keep up with spraying and keeping up with pest control. With all of the repairs that we have had to get done, I will agree our pest control has fell a little to the waste side. Thank you for your review and bringing this to our attention. We will be sure to get back on to the pest control. We hope to see you again soon! Since we have taken over in November, we have made huge strides in updating, cleaning up, and repairing the park and we will continue to push forward so that our guests continue to have a wonderful stay and connect with nature. Thank you for visiting us.

As always the staff is outstanding and very hospitable. The quality of food is never a disappointment at the diner. I highly recommend their homemade biscuits and gravy for breakfast and fried fish for lunch/dinner. Everything I have eaten here taste like it came straight out of my grandmas kitchen. They also have karaoke on the weekends which is very entertaining to watch. We have stayed here multiple times and have never have had an issue. As much as I would like to give 5 stars this stay wasn't as great as the many others. I wish to have known that the room I was renting this past stay, which was at the same price as the previous room I have stayed in, was significantly smaller. As well, I wish I would have been informed that the quality of water was compromised due to maintenance of a new water well. Even though the water was considered "Safe", the smell was horrific to the point we could not bare to shower or even wash our hands in it. We had to use our gallon drinking jugs, we purchased to use in drinks, to sponge clean and wash our hands in. I, however, do look forward to staying at Jackson Hill Marina again in the future. They are truly great people and I know they will do their very best to make sure this won't happen again. I highly recommend Jackson Hill Marina.

Campground Response

Hi Ashli, Thank you for your review. We greatly apologize for the inconvenience of the water. We now have a new well that was just piped into the system today that is clear and smells great. We look forward to seeing you again soon!! :)

This is my fourth or fifth time to stay here and it has always been great. This is a perfect get away for just time away or for fishing trips. It has everything right there. And I cannot say enough about how friendly everyone is plus the food is delicious. Thank you Sarah!! I have enjoyed all my stays and will be coming back.

Water at campsite smells like sewerage and could not use water in RV. Will not being staying here again!

Campground Response

Hi Billy! We are sorry to hear that you will not being staying with us again. Since we have taken over at the end of November of 2023 we have done a lot of repairs, updating, and clean-up to the entire facility. The water system has been a work in progress. Just this week we piped in a new water well into the system and cut off the old 50 yr old water well that was full of hydrogen sulfide. The water smells and tastes great now. It is sad that you will not get to experience the new water and all of the fun that Jackson Hill has to offer. We wish you the best of luck.

Most of the full hookups looked like permanent guests. Sewage smell was constant around a few of them. Boat ramp and restaurant was great!

Great camping spot. Excellent restaurant. Only issue was that there are no leash restrictions on dogs. Not a fan of dog poop outside my rv door.

Campground Response

Hi Wanda, we apologize that you had to experience dog poop at your door, however we do have a leash requirement for all dogs on the facility grounds.

Location is great. Restaurant staff are friendly and helpful. Cabin #17 was exactly as told, however the water pressure is extremely low and the toilet floor is soft/bad. The small cabin did not have a table, a rack to hang towels on, or any king of organizer to place soap, wash cloth, or shampoo on in the shower. In addition, I had both of my boat trailer tires slashed Friday night resulting in two blow outs, a damaged trailer, and a long Saturday. In spite of all of this, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and plan to make reservations at a larger cabin for next year. The breakfast biscuits each morning were great, and again the folks were courteous and friendly. The small cabin is on me, as it is what was advertised.

The cabins have been painted inside and have new beds and refrigerators, New towels are nice. The dinner has been remodeled- looks nice and clean. The food was good. I would like to see a bigger delux cabin with 2 BR, 2 bath, kitchen, plus bunk beds to sleep 10 people.

I rented a RV space but the space was not a pad, it was part of the road. I didn’t have a picnic table. At checkout I was blocked by truck so I had to maneuver my truck to leave. This issue would have not come up if there was pad. I was in site 14/15. Site 12/13 is the same way.

Campground Response

Hi Abiel! I am so sorry that you had these problems. As new owners we have been working our behinds off trying to renovate the facilities and at this point have not had a chance to address the RV sites. We plan to visit the site layout in the near future and make corrections. As far as the picnic table, we do not advertise to supply you with a picnic table, nor did we state that we would when you booked the site. I apologize for this inconvenience.
