Lake Sugar Tree Motorsports is a family sports park for motorcycle riding and racing which is located in Henry County off of HWY. 58 East on State Route 617 Axton, Virginia - Between Martinsville and Danville. The Motocross track has been around for over 30 years, it all started with a few local racers from the Trans Am Series who came to Lake Sugar Tree in the beginning of the 70’s bringing top European rider’s to compete against the top American rider’s. A couple of years later the AMA (American Motorcycle Association) came on board with it’s series, which provide more American verses Europe “best of the best” racing.

We offer RV and tent camping both on a daily and seasonal basis. We have camping available year-round! Our campground has access to a beautiful, pristine pond and acres of woods making it a prime spot for fishing and hunting. *For generations, our campground has been home to hunters, and we embrace the opportunity to honor that tradition. During hunting season (October-December), target practice and shooting will be held on Sundays from 3-6 PM at the dam. Please avoid the lake and lake area during shooting time.  The road is safe to use to access the campground. Practice is limited to monthly and seasonal campers.* The Historic Cold Sulphur Springs Campground dates back to at least the mid-late 1800s, when it was a large, flourishing resort frequented by travelers from near and far. In its heyday, the resort bustled with more than 250 guests who often spent entire summers there playing croquet and enjoying orchestra concerts at the hotel dance hall. They would arrive at the Goshen train station and be brought to the resort by horse and buggy, greeted with ice cold lemonade. Those who visited Cold Sulphur Springs, doctors especially, attributed miraculous medicinal benefits to the water, recommending it as a cure for a variety of ailments and encouraging patients to visit. The Goshen Land and Improvement company even used these testimonials as a marketing tool to attract visitors, claiming “The Cold Sulphur Springs is pronounced by leading physicians and chemists as the finest water in the state. We have in our possession testimonies from leading physicians north and south to that effect.” However, the 1900s brought the onset of World War I and the advent of the automobile, allowing Americans to travel freely to a variety of locations without the need to summer for months at one resort. These factors caused the hotel at Cold Sulphur Springs to lose patrons and eventually meet its demise through fire and other means of destruction.  Today, the grounds provide a simpler kind of hospitality. Cold Sulphur Springs is a place for travelers from all walks of life to camp, fish, swim, boat, hike, and more. While little remains of the old hotel, the historic Spring House is still in tact at the campground, as are some remnants of original building foundations.  We invite you to explore the wonder that is the Historic Cold Sulphur Springs Campground and see the beauty that lies within.    

Located at the Haysi Ridgeview Trailhead, Mountain Top Campground is a hiker's paradise, offering access to approximately 200 miles of trails. The area also features an ATV trail also accommodates horse trails, hikers, bicyclists, and motorcycles. Operated by the Haysi Kiwanis, Mountain Top Campground offers 18 brand-new full hook up RV sites and 18 primitive tent sites along with shower and restroom facilities to accommodate the primitive sites. Mountain Top is also located close to the Russell Fork River, which offers access for fishing, kayaking /canoeing /tubing and swimming. During the month of October, with the release of water from the John Flanagan, Dickenson County and the Russell Fork become a popular destination for white water rafters.

Things to do near Phoenix Mountain Campground Fly fishing in Lansing which is 5 miles from the campground • Mount Jefferson (~12 miles) Hiking, picnicking  • Ashe County Cheese Plant\ • Virginia Creeper Trail (~54 miles) spans 34 miles of moderate terrain between Abingdon and Damascus, Virginia. Most riders start in Abingdon and enjoy a scenic downhill ride to Damascus, where several bike shops offer convenient rental services. These shops typically provide shuttle transportation to the Abingdon trailhead, allowing you to ride back to Damascus where you started. Update may 1 2022 unfortunately this property has been sold and the new owners are working hard to carry on what we started and have made alot of improvements but they will not allow any campers out till next year.  we are looking into aquiring other property to start another park.        Due To COVID-19 and the clubhouse construction there will be no tent camping for the 2021 season and all rigs must be fully self-contained.  we are now conducting background checks And theres a 30 day waiting period if there any local court records found from the date of booking a site So we have plenty of time to process you. if your looking for a long term rv site we have a few really good options for you to come check out. Deep in the heart of Appalachia is one amazing farm with a very interesting history, where time seems to have stood still until we decided to acquire the property about 5 years ago and develop part of it into a really neat camping resort.  Fish trails campground is very excited to offer several more camping options for the 2020 season And is the perfect place for you to come explore. This area will be sure to meet and exceed all of your hiking, biking, or relaxation needs as we are located right in the middle of Recreational paradise, But yet the campground offers easy and convent access to Damascus Virginia And everything the Tri-Cities Bristol Tn and Boone NC areas have to offer, which are all just a 30 to 40 minute drive from here.  Fish Trails offers private access to over 200 yards of stocked trout fishing that could arguably be some of the best fishin east of the mighty  Mississippi! The main campground area has a base elevation of ~2250’ and offers very comfortable year-round weather.  Tennesse being on the sunny side of the Smokies and with next to no mosquitoes you will be sure to find yourself a very pleasant camping experience.  CAMPING Rates: starting at $30 daily .   Taxes and fees are not included. Or we can develop you dump stations at some sights if your interested in a long term site GROUP CAMPSITES   We offer 3 group sites, which will accommodate approximately 15 people each.  These sites may be reserved up to 12 months in advance And require a two night minimum.  Hike-in Sites We are now offering a few hike-in sites where you can even bring your own ATV or side-by-side to access these sites.  These sites are remote Leave No Trace pack in pack out style Tent camping sites, which are located about a 1/2 mile hike/utv style trail that rises up approximately 500’ feet in elevation Into peace and solitude situated high up above the main campground which consists of 32 acres of Pristine mountain land backing to the Cherokee National Forest. Lodging  The clubhouse Construction is nearing completion and should be available in Novemb   weekly to monthly rental now . It can be utilized  as a bunkhouse or as a hotel style studio suite.  It is located  next to the bathhouse and it has its own full private bathroom and kitchenette.  It can sleep 3 comfortably on cots or we can set up a queen sized inflatable raised bed and a cot.  Its nicely situated tucked hidden back in the woods just steps off the Laurel Creek and Trail,   $95.00 Per Night (2 Night Minimum, includes 3 guests)  Additional guests $10.00 per night, per guest  Additional $25.00 cleaning fee for pets.  $510.00 Per Week $800 monthly   Policies & Disclaimer Parks Campground Wi-Fi Disclaimer   The Park offers Wi-Fi for your enjoyment. Wi-Fi signal outages may occur from time to time due to weather or other technical difficulties. Fish Trails campground cannot guarantee continuity of free Wi-Fi service at all times. There is no cell phone signal here so you will need to enable Wi-Fi calling on phones with a guest password which will be provided to  you  after your booking, most sites have high-speed internet available Fast enough to stream Netflix!   Firewood Policy We ask that ALL campfires be made with wood we offer or downed wood that you find inside the park, . Guest access: From the moment you enter the camp and go across the massive bridge that gthat takes you over  over laurel creek you will begin to feel the beauty and power of this property, that lies along a section of an old rail road bed directly off Tn hwy 91 ~2 miles South of the Virginia tn border. The campground is located adjacent to the new Laurel Creek Trail which is a federally funded rail trail conversion project that cost over $350,000 so far and is a park like setting from the campground to the Virginia state line and is Destined to be extended directly into Damascus in the near future and will connect up with the famous Creeper trail! To access the trail from the 5th wheel head to the north end of the property, follow the gravel road up towards the bathhouse area you will see a trail that drops back down onto the old railroad Bed and then go about 50’ and your on the new trail. We are the only private property with direct access to this trail, if you go about 1/2 mile down the trail from here is a section of the legendary Boone Trail aka FS Butt Mountain trail which has been really improved upon recently and it goes all the way up to the Iron Range Trail which you can then hike directly into Damascus or all the way over to the infamous Backbone Rock even, this trail was The old Appalachian Trail Route before they made the new route the next Ridge west of here, but this area offers a much more peaceful hiking experience and is really amazing given the mild climate we get here with abundant wildlife  this place is awesome! Other things to note about hike-in sites:  There are two different areas that we offer hike-in sites here, as there are two massive ridges that rise up directly in back of the lower campground, the north ridge requires a very difficult hike with no gear delivery availabile yet and is only available upon special requests for now.  The South Ridges #11 campsite while you will feel totally remote offers views Of the valley below and of Highway 91, where you’ll be able to see and hear the motorcycles and logging trucks rumble through, which really makes for a spectacle.You May want to consider renting machines through a local outfit in Mountain city who can deliver For a very reasonable prices And ride the trails at Doe Mountain off road park one day too.   Leave No Trace sites-  Plan ahead and be prepare; Travel and camp on durable surfaces ; Dispose of waste properly; Leave what you find; Minimize campfire impact; Respect wildlife. Be curdious of other campers. Cutting, chopping or damage of any kind to trees and plants, large or small, is strictly forbidden. No removal of plants, trees or rocks. Digging is not allowed. Do not dismantle the rock fire rings. Do not pour out candle wax. Stay on marked trails. Pick up your trash and dispose of it  properly in The large trash receptacle in front of the garage which is put outside dailey . FINES FOR VIOLATIONS WILL BE IMPOSED.
