This campground is nearby my home and we used to camp there in the 1960s when I was a kid. The campground hasn't changed much but the name "Rippling Waters" comes from a huge sand bottom pool that was located there. At the time it seemed like the pool was the size of a football field with island piers in the middle. People would drive large distances to swim there. The pool was closed in the 1970s after some drownings and the liability insurance shut it down. The pool was razed but you can still see the area it was near the current lodge. As someone mentioned here, the campground is located in the community of Romance, WV. My wife and I were married at the United Methodist Church just down the road and explains why there's a wedding chapel on the lake. The nearby Pocatalico River is one of the best muskie fishing rivers in WV.

My family had a very pleasant time here and can’t wait to get back as soon as we are able to. The staff was so nice and catered to all of our needs. There were plenty of great sites to choose from that was very spacious and wide. There were all the amenities we could ask for that took care of more than the basics. The location was amazing as everything that was in the park and in the surrounding areas was just bliss. Everything was also very nicely maintained that really helped us relax. This is now one of my favorite places to visit! - Review provided by RV Park Recommendations & Reviews Facebook Group

This is a PA PK, PA book lists it under Kenna, TL lists it under town of Romance my receipt said Kenna. it is about 20 mi north of Charleston WV. Signs of the exit just say rippling Waters campground. $30. rate we paid $15 as PA rate for a nice long FHU 50A site. It is off of Exit 116 off I-77 about 3 miles down, road into park is blacktop not very side but fine for lg. RV's. There are 100 sites some are seasonal sites, overnite sites are p/thru. this is a nice quiet, peaceful pk, very clean, small lake with some boat rentals, fishing, there is a small pond also, pool, laundry, bath houses, some cabins, lodge, conference center w/ dining hall, gazebo, a small chapel by the lake. They have Sunday services in the chapel & also have weddings there. it would be a perfect place for a fall setting as the fall colors there would be great. Beautiful park, we will definetely stop here again when in the area. - Review provided by RV Park Recommendations & Reviews Facebook Group
