Texas Shakespeare Festival / Anne Dean Turk Performing Arts Center If you visit during the summer, check out the Texas Shakespeare Festival. Performances happen in the Van Cliburn Auditorium on the Kilgore College campus. There’s also an art gallery in the same center.  4. Creekside Trail For a relaxing walk, bike ride, or early-morning jog, the Creekside Trail winds through woods along Bighead Creek. 5. Kilgore City Park If you’re camping with family, this is a great place to go for playgrounds, picnic areas, and green space.  6. Driller Park (Baseball) This is a classic, small-town baseball park where you might catch a local game depending on the season. 7. Historic Murals & Downtown Walk Stroll through historic downtown Kilgore, where you’ll find vintage murals (like a Coca-Cola mural) and historic architecture. 8. Great Texas Balloon Race If you're camping around July, this annual hot-air balloon festival happens nearby and draws a large crowd.

A small but spacious 14 site park on 25 acres with 7 pull throughs capable of handling big rigs up to 78 feet long and 7 back-in sites with fire rings. Full hookups with 50/30/20 amp electrical service, fresh city water and sewer hookups. Free WIFI. A walking trail has been created in the rear of the property that goes through dense woods and covers around 15 acres. A doggy park has also been built. Coming very soon, a bathroom with a shower stall!  We also are setting up a small laundromat that will be ready by next week. We also have primitive tent camping sites in the woods at the rear of the property. A very nice time of year to go tent camping! We now have a laundry, toilet and shower facility for your convenience!

Back in August 2025, we were busy clearing the land to create our family-friendly RV retreat.  In December, we will be pouring slabs for our office and museum as well as developing the infrastructure to include roads and RV sites.  We anticipate having sites available to rent by February or March 2026. We will have sites with modern RV hookups, a little store with bare essentials, and an eclectic museum that stitches together stories and artifacts from Texas and beyond. Amenities will feature a small conference room for business/video needs, a family-friendly gameroom, a laundry facility, and a private rest room with a shower. Initial services will include a self-serve, diverse library suited for all ages, propane distribution/exchange, and a Texas notary public. We will offer discounts for active duty and veteran military personnel, senior citizens, first responders, and educators.
