The City of Rocks State Park gets its name from the incredible volcanic rock formations found here. The park is a mile from the scenic Chihuahuan Desert Region of southwest New Mexico, and stands at an elevation of 5,200 feet. The geological formation is made up of large, sculpted rock columns and pinnacles rising as high as 40 feet, and separated by paths or lanes resembling streets. After years of natural erosion, the formations have an almost other-worldly appearance, filling the landscape like towers against the beautiful New Mexico sky. 

The Percha Flats Campground is located in the Caballo Lake State Park, and is nestled in an idyllic New Mexico setting popular among nature enthusiasts and photographers. Enjoy excellent conditions for swimming, kite boarding, wind surfing, climbing, canoeing and kayaking. Boating, fishing and hiking are also popular, as is wildlife viewing. The Club Cove Campground is located at the Elephant Butte Lake State Park in New Mexico. Get ready for swimming, fishing, water skiing, paddle boarding, kayaking and canoeing, and be sure to hang around at dusk to catch one of those iconic New Mexico sunsets. The Palomino Campground is located at Caballo Lake State Park and is a beautiful, quintessential New Mexico spot. Framed against the Caballo Mountains, the lake boasts spectacular and colorful views as well as a variety of water activities such as boating, swimming, boating, kayaking, canoeing and fishing. Tired of the water? Visitors and locals alike enjoy land sports such as biking, hiking, horseback riding, birding and picnicking. Additionally, you can expect excellent winter time skiing, jet skiing and wind surfing, and with the iconic New Mexico sunrises and sunsets, be sure to bring your camera to take some great shots.

The Three Rivers Petroglyph Site is the biggest collection of petroglyphs in the nation, and is a great place to immerse yourself in the history and rich culture of the southwest. Hikers prepare for some challenging and scenic trails, and great views of the Sierra and Tularosa Basin. The nearby trading post is also world-class, offering campers a pick of the best local arts and craft, each unique piece holding some historic or cultural significance. Fall in love with the southwest at this park, where there's so much of nature to explore. Hike the gorgeous desert vistas, or mountain bike the hills around the campground. There's also so much stargazing to be done, so settle in at dusk to enjoy the reds and oranges of an iconic New Mexico sunset and strap in for the nighttime light show.  

The Pancho Villa park is home to numerous historical exhibits from the battle that happened at this small town in 1916. History buffs and New Mexico enthusiasts alike flock to this site to see the museum which is free for campers, and to experience the remnants of this crucial part of the Mexican- American war. The park is also only a few miles from the southern border, so if you cross, be sure to visit the Pink Store. If you like the iconic desert terrain of New Mexico, you'll especially love this park, and the sights of those beautifully red sunrises and sunsets the area is known for.

Less than a mile from Cloudcroft is the Lower Fir Group Campground in the Lincoln National Forest reserve. As you'd expect, there's plenty to do in this area: take your family on hiking and biking expeditions through the dense, gorgeous forestry of the campground, and go on plenty of picnics while you're there. You can also walk to Cloudcroft for some shopping, entertainment and interaction with the friendly locals.

The Paseo Del Rio Campground is located in the Elephant Butte Lake State Park, and is perfect for a long escape into the natural terrain of the southwest. far from the crowds with plenty of open space, this park offers visitors the chance to spread out and roam on foot, ATV of bike. Go to the lake to enjoy excellent fishing, boating, water skiing or just an easy-going afternoon on a paddle board. There's also plenty of clear, open skies for stargazing and of course, don't be shy about soaking in those iconic New Mexico sunrises and sunsets. 

The South Highlands Campground is located in the Elephante Butte Lake State Park and is in a secluded area perfect for an escape into the serene southwestern landscape. Explore the gorgeous desert vistas that are mixed in with hills and lakes, for a great outdoor adventure. Make your way down to the lake for water skiing, paddle boarding, fishing and of course swimming, and strap on your hiking boots to hit the trails on foot or bike. The area also his clear, expansive skies ideal for stargazing and for campers to enjoy the excellent sunrises and sunsets New Mexico is known for.

Surround yourself with the mixed evergreen/aspen forest of the Aspen Group Campground, located in the Lincoln National Forest, New Mexico. Able to accommodate groups of up to 70 people, this is a popular spot for visitors wanting to experience this lush New Mexico park, as well as the charming village of Cloudcroft.
