Campers can look forward to a number of great attractions just beyond the campground, including the charming city of Mineola, the Mineola Nature Preserve on the Sabine River and nearby Lake Fork Reservoir, the premier trophy largemouth bass lake in Texas.  There's also a number of great antique shops, museums, craft eateries and farms to enjoy! Amenities at the park include: big rig access, electric, water, sewerage, WIFI and 30/50 amp concrete sites, lighted tennis courts, splash park, open air pavilion with picnic tables, showers for RV guests, and picnic areas with bbq grills. The Cowtown RV Park is located in the cozy town of Aledo and is a great place for an authentic Texas vacation. Campers can look forward to nearby activities such as swimming, hiking, and sightseeing, but there's also a host of other local attractions that draws thousands each year. The Dallas World Aquarium, Dealey Plaza, Klyde Warren Park and Kimbell Art Museum are among the area's famous sites. The area is also known for its big rallies and ranch events, and wide open skies for sunset viewing and stargazing. Oakdale Park, listed in the National Register of Historic Places, has been providing recreational opportunities for families since 1925.  We offer cabins, RV & tent sites, meeting rooms, a playground, picnic sites, recreational equipment, an outdoor stage, paved lanes for the kids and their bikes, a very large, 330,000 gallon swimming pool, a coin laundry, and campground store all for your family's benefit and enjoyment.  Beginning with a CASI Chili Cook Off and IBCA BBQ Cookoff, from February through December there's almost always something happening.  Since 1972, Oakdale has been home to a Spring and and Fall Bluegrass Jamboree (1st Saturday in April and 1st Saturday in October, respectively); since 1982, it has been home to the Lone Star State Dulcimer Festival (Mother's Day weekend); and, since 1987, it has been home to a Fall Woodcarving Show and Rally.  For several years the Paluxy River Bluegrass Association has been hosting 3rd Saturday jam sessions and free stage shows at Oakdale as well.  Many families have been coming here for their reunions for decades.  And, many RV clubs regularly hold rallies here.  As you can see, during our first 100 years, many traditions have sprung up and taken hold.  We're located across the street from the Paluxy River, where you'll find the City of Glen Rose's free Big Rocks Park and River Walk.
