This KOA is close to the Santa Fe trail used by Billy the Kid, and was once used by thousands of travelers, journeying across the southwest in wagons. The Wild Rivers National Recreation Area is located within the Rio Grande del Norte National Monument and along the Rio Grande Wild and Scenic River. Experience the beauty of an 800-foot deep canyon, volcanic flowers and naturally rugged vistas. The diverse terrain ensures the perfect environment for a flourishing flora and fauna ecosystem. Eagle Nest Lake State Park is located in Eagle Nest on the Enchanted Circle Scenic Byway. Expect a stunning landscape with the incredibly high mountains of the Moreno Valley. The lake is regularly stocked with trout and salmon, and visitors can look forward to ice fishing in the winter. At an 8,300 foot elevation, the campground enjoys mild weather conditions and fresh breezes. As such, fisherman, boaters, campers, hikers and wildlife enthusiasts are commonplace at the park, and an abundance of animals make Eagle Nest Lake an ideal location for wildlife viewing.

The Coyote Creek State Park is located an hour east of Taos, and is nestled in the Sangre De Cristo mountains. The Yucca Campground is located near the Ute Lake State Park in Logan, New Mexico. Look forward to a gorgeous lake surface among beautiful lakeside trees and forestry. The South Area Campground is located at the Storrie Lake State Park and is a popular site for outdoor activities and some serene lakeside relaxation. Enjoy wildlife viewing while you hike the various trails around the park, so be sure to back not only your binoculars, but your hiking shoes! The area is also well-known for excellent fishing, windsurfing, paddle boarding, kayaking, water skiing, caoneing and boating.
