The Cochiti Lake Recreation Area is located in Pena Blanca, New Mexico near the Rio Grande and upstream from Albuquerque. Enjoy spectacular outdoor events such as day sailing, fishing, kayaking and wind surfing. This is a designated "quiet lake," so boat operators cannot get up to wake speeds, which make it a perfect environment for quiet water activities and a still lake surface. You can also go hiking and biking around the lake and enjoy some of the most pristine forestry to photograph. Since Albuquerque is so close by, visitors can look forward to local dining, shopping, exploration and the many activities and festivals that residents take advantage of daily. The Blue Spruce RV Park is located in Ruidoso, New Mexico but is in the perfect spot for a quiet, relaxing escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Take a day trip to the Bandera Volcano, and several other attractions like the mining museum and excellent local eateries are much closer. You can also go rock hounding for quartz and other precious stones! This is a great park to fall in love with the slower, more easy-going side of New Mexico.

The Vaughn RV Park is located in Vaughn, New Mexico and is perfect for a quiet, easy-going visit to the southwest. Look forward to gorgeous desert vistas and flora, and pleasant, cool breezes. Campers especially love this spot for expansive, clear skies and the excellent stargazing it offers. Look up at dawn, dusk or at night time to experience the true beauty of the southwest through those spectacular reds and oranges. The park is conveniently located around several store and gas stations for supplies, and restaurants that give visitors an opportunity to experience the culinary creativity of the locals. 

The Ojo Redondo Campground is just southwest of Mt. Sedwick, the hightes point in the Zuni Mountains. With such loush forestry and a gorgeous natural landscape, visitors have plenty to see and experience at this park. Look forward to plenty of hiking, biking and picnicking opportunities, as well as rock climbing up the mountain face. Campers often do a lot of wildlife watching and horseback riding during their time at this park, so don't be afraid to get adventurous!

Located 25 miles from Grants, New Mexico is the Bluewater Lake State Park. Set in a thriving pinion-juniper landscape with breath taking views toward the Zuni Mountains. Enjoy outdoor activities such as birding, horseback riding and hiking the trails, as well as tiger muskie fishing - the best in the region.

The Jemez Mountains is the breathtaking backdrop for the Fenton Lake State Park in Jemez Springs, New Mexico. Surrounded by beautiful ponderosa pines, the park is ideal of wildlife viewing and hiking, and with the Rio Cebolla running through it, it's also excellent for fishing and canoeing. The river is well-stocked with rainbow trout and German brown trout; ice fishing is also popular there. The park also has a fun playground for kids making it well-sought after among the little ones, and is also known to attract cross-country skiiers during the winter months. Boating, horseback riding and picnicking are also common activities at the park.

Fall in love with New Mexico by visiting the Onderosa Group Campground in the Banedlier National Monument. Look forward to not only the spectacular views of the moment, but also great hiking trails such as the Main Loop Trail, Tsankawi Trail and the backcountry region of the monument. Be sure to keep your cameras and binoculars handy for the American Pika, deer and other wildlife that are common around this park. There are only two sites avilable though, so reserve one early! At an over 6,100 foot elevation and nestled between two high sandstone bluffs is the Villanueva National Park. There's tons of excellent outdoor activities to enjoy, so get ready for great fishing, birding, wildlife viewing, wildflower viewing or mountain biking. Visitors especially love to hike the various trails, so get ready to explore the gorgeous forestry that climbs up the bluffs and runs through the canyon. There's also equestrian trails as well as a number of picnic tables, so whether you want to go galloping through the wilderness or hang out with friends over great food, there's plenty of space and picnic tables to make that happen!

The Joe Skeen BLM is located in Grants, New Mexico and was established in 1987 protect nationally significant ecological, cultural, geological, scenic, scientific and wilderness resources located around the Grants Lava Flows. Visitors to the area can look forward to beautifully preserved sandstone cliffs, canyons and the La Ventana Natural Arch. These natural formations connect the New Mexico terrain to the culture and history of the area's Native American past and present, giving them significance beyond it's asthetic appeal. Enjoy hiking the numerous trails, climbing, biking and plenty of site seeing in this amazing park. You can also enjoy caving, picnicking and horseback riding. 

Filled with history, Las Vegas New Mexico is the perfect place to immerse yourself in the colorful past of the state. This KOA is close to the Santa Fe trail used by Billy the Kid, and was once used by thousands of travelers, journeying across the southwest in wagons. The park is popular for its stellar views as it sits at the foot of the Sangre de Cristo mountain, and is surrounded by juniper and pinions. 900 historic buildings and wagon-wheel ruts highlight the area's past, while the lakes and national wildlife refuge highlight its natural wonders. Whether you're in love with hiostory or nature (or both), you're certain to be well-entertained at this park. 

Adjacent to the Malpais Lava Flow is the Valley of Fires recreation Area. Travelers love this park because from a distance, the hardened lava flows appear barren, but a hike around the formation will reveal a variety of flowers, cacti, bushes and trees common in the Chihuahuan desert. The area is also known to be buzzing with wildlife. Look forward to barberry sheep, bats, mule deer, road runner, great horned owls and a plethora of other bird species uncommon in other parts of the state. Enjoy the fully accessibly Malpais Nature Trail, horseback riding and picnicking.

The Juniper Campground is located at the Bandelier National Monument and is a popular campign spot for families and small groups of about 10 people or fewer. Look forward to some breathtaking views of the cliffside and mountain ranges, as well as a thriving wildlife landscape. Keep you eyes open for deer, the Bandelier butterflies, American pika and Abert's squirrels, as well the beautiful natural terrain that there creatures call home. The hiking trails at this park are slightly easier and shorter than at other parks at Bandelier, and this ensures that children and younger camper are not overly taxed as they explore the area. Also be sure to take pictures of the beautiful monument and look upward at dawn or dusk to see that iconic New Mexico sky!
