At an elevation of over 9,800 feet, Hopewell Lake Campground is filled not only with gorgeous mountain ranges and forestry, but crisp, fresh air. Located between Tres Pierdas and Tierra Amarilla, expect excellent outdoor activities such as horseback riding, hiking and tons of mountain biking. You can also fish for rainbow trout and brook at the 14 acres that makeup Hopewell Lake. Picnicking is another popular activity, and it's even better at dusk when you can enjoy beautiful New Mexico sunsets and star gazing. It's the perfect spot for your next quiet, nature getaway. 

Grassy Point is located at El Vado Lake, New Mexico and is a great place to kick-back and soak in the spirit of adventure that exists everywhere in Tierra Amarillo. Look forward to gorgeous views over the lake and plenty of space for water sports like boating, swimming, paddle boarding, fishing and kayaking. There's also wildlife to view to keep your camera and binocular handy in case a bald eagle decides to visit your site. The Wild Rivers National Recreation Area is located within the Rio Grande del Norte National Monument and along the Rio Grande Wild and Scenic River. That being said, expect some of the most untouched, breathtaking views of nature this side of the United States. Experience the beauty of an 800-foot deep canyon, volcanic flowers and naturally rugged vistas. The diverse terrain ensures the perfect environment for a flourishing flora and fauna ecosystem. While you hike the trails, look out for gorgeous birds and small animals, as well as beautiful blooming flowers and plants. Besides hiking, you can also go boating, fishing, biking, picnicking and scenic driving.

The Blanco Campground is located in the Heron Lake State Park, Los Ojos, New Mexico. The picturesque Heron Lake is located among the  gorgeous talls pines native to New Mexico, and long-time campers love this area because it's a designated "quiet lake." Boat operators cannot get up to wake speeds, meaning there's not only peacefulness for visitors to enjoy, but a still water surface for canoeing, kayaking and paddle boarding. There are also trails for hiking and biking, and wide open skies for stargazing. Be sure to look up at dawn and dusk to catch one of those iconic New Mexico sunrises or sunsets. The trees almost seem to absorb the noises around you, so look forward to a peaceful, relaxing getaway. 

The Elephant Rock Campground is located in the Carson National Forest, and is well-known for the Red River and Eagle Rock Lake being nearby. Campers can look forward to excellent fishing at the lakes, as well as opportunities for kayaking, swimming and boating. Visitors can also expect great hiking trails and large open areas for picnicking and exploring. The area is thick with thriving forestry, so prepare for some spectacular views, and occasional bird or deer roaming the mountain regions. 

Jemez Falls - USFS is located near the beautiful New Mexico city of Santa Fe, and is a great camping spot for the history-buff and the desert lover. The Brushy Point Campground is located at the Heron Lake State Park, and is set among the picturesque tall pines of northern New Mexico. Designated as a "quiet lake," boat operators cannot get up to wake-speeds, making it an excellent location for paddle-crafts liek canoes and kayaks. Get on the lake surface to enjoy a peaceful and easy-going float on the lake, and be sure to cast a few lines to catch record-sized trout and kokanee salmon. Ice fishing is very popular during the winter, as is cross-country skiing. During the warmer months, be sure to hike, bike and picnic your way around the lake, taking in the beautiful natural terrain as you go. 

Enjoy spectacular sights at the Wild River's Campground including deep, steep-sided canyons carved out by the Rio Grande River and the Red River through beautiful, volcanic rock. Go hiking on one of the three trails that descend to the river.
