Less than a mile from Cloudcroft is the Lower Fir Group Campground in the Lincoln National Forest reserve. You can also walk to Cloudcroft for some shopping, entertainment and interaction with the friendly locals.

Located just 14 miles southeast of Roswell, New Mexico is the Bottomless Lake campground. Enjoy an almost insane number of outdoor activities, so get your water-proof sunscreen out and packed. You can look forward to tons of fishing spots, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, cruising and even scuba diving. With an abundance of aquatic plants in the lake, the water looks greenish-blue and it's beautiful! Visitors also enjoy hiking the various trails, biking, unique sinkholes to explore.  

Look forward to an exquisite sunrise over Mirror Lake while you camp at the Figure 8 Lake Campground in Roswell. Hike or bike the trails around the site, and enjoy the warmth as you stand on one of the many hills and take in the breadth of the land. Located in the Lincoln National Forest New Mexico is the Black Bear Group Campground, a popular site for annual groups of up to 70 people. With plenty of open, grassy spots for sports, and lots of wildlife in the surrounding forest, this campground is a popular one for group activities like star-gazing on the park's many clear nights. Located near Alamogordo and Cloudcroft, it's also well-known for groups wanting to explore those two urban centers and the great culture and dining to be experienced there. It's also a quarter mile from the Rim Trail, which is popular for mountain biking, hiking, and horseback riding. Other nearby trails are open to ATV enthusiasts.

The Lake Van Recreation is located in Dexter, New Mexico on Lake Van.
