Chloride is a silver mining ghost town, and home to the Apache Kid RV Park. The park is small and secluded, so take advantage of the wonderful New Mexico quiet and especially the knowledgeable staff who are like walking history books. Some visitors like to visit the nearby cemetery which has some interesting headstones, but everyone should swing by the museum; it's well worth it. The artist coop has excellent displays and all reasonably priced. It's a great place to get souvenirs. There's one beautifully restored historic cabin, so call in early to reserve.

Elks Lodge 413 is for Elks only and is a great place to relax or go out and explore nearby attractions. The park is just a short drive from Silver City, so when you're ready to explore, there's plenty to see and do. Get ready for museums, historical buildings, the Ancient Indian Ruins, Gila Cliff Dwellings, the Spirit of the Mountain Scenic Byway and a host of other great attractions. The Black Canyon Campground is located in the Gila National Forest and is a great place to enjoy a peaceful yet engaging southwestern adventure.
