Campers can look forward to as number of nearby water-related activities at places like the gorgeous pond at the Bay Town Nature Center, Pirates Bay Waterpark, and there's also quiet a few public parks like the Roseland, Allenbrooks and Jenkins Parks. The Baytown Historical Museum is a camper favorite, as is Goose Creek Park. The Midtown RV Park is located just minutes from downtown Austin as well as the airport, and is conveniently positioned near the banks of Lake Travis. Since the park is so near the lake, visitors can take advantage of annual sailing regattas, ski boat competitions, sailing on different cruisers and of course some swimming and hanging out at the water's edge. There are also public parks near the lake, for those days when you get tired of the water, and want to go biking, hiking or exploring the beauty of the Texas Hill Country. Travel further inland for some historic sightseeing, golfing, a quick visit to the Texas State Capitol building or the Austin zoo.
