The Heartland RV Park is located in the picturesque Texas town of Huntsville and is a great spot for an authentic southern vacation. Campers can look forward to a number of attractions just beyond the campground including the Sam Houston National Forest, Texas Prison Museum, Sam Houston Memorial Museum, and the Walker County Historical Commission. There are also a number of other historical sites such as the Hearts Veterans Museum of Texas, Gibbs-Powell Home Museum, and a list of great restaurants, golf courses, lakes, and bars to enjoy.  64 Pull thru and 9 back-in sites, most sites have some shade. The Texas State Railroad Campground is located in the beautiful East Texas town of Rusk and is a great spot for a fun southern escape! We offer campsites with water only, water and electricity or full hookups with 50-amp service and sewer. The Grounds offer picnic tables, grills, fire rings, laundry facility and WiFi! There are separate showers and restrooms onsite, a water splash pad, nature trails and a campground office complete with sundries and firewood for purchase. The 15-acre Cherokee Lake is where fishermen will find a variety fish including crappie, catfish, striped bass, sauger, walleye, smallmouth bass, bluegill and largemouth bass. Whether they are casting, spinning or flying fish, chances of getting a bite are good! Onsite, travelers may look forward to historic sightseeing. For the history buff, there's plenty of other historic sites, a number of green spaces of nature walks and scenic viewing and of course, visitors may expect great local eateries and bars to enjoy. Conveniently located between Riverside, TX. and Trinity, TX. on State Hwy 19. The campground offers 37 full hook-up RV sites with both 30 and 50-amp electric service at every site. There are 2 brand new waterfront rental cabins with all the modern amenities and comforts of home. There are also 10 primitive tent camping sites, half of which are conveniently located on a peninsula between the river and our 2-acre private pond with the remaining positioned along the river adjacent to an adjacent oxbow. Our 2-bedroom (550 sq ft) waterfront cabins are centrally heated and air-conditioned and sleep four persons. A rollaway bed can be provided for an additional person.
