Beautiful fall spot. We were in spot 8 which is close to the highway but we did not find this disruptive. Hiking trails were fun, and water sound in the background made a nice addition. Reservation was easy and the person I called at Barnes Co Parks to inquire about a larger unit than their stated size was very friendly and accomodating. Also had the opportunity to call the person who takes care of the campground. He was very friendly although he had no way to address the issue we had. Dump station was full on Sunday afternoon. Luckily we had finished black tank before it stopped. Be aware this particular dump site is also unlevel, tipped quite a bit forward. We weren't able to empty. Not a huge deal. We took care of it elsewhere. Overall, a very nice week in a quiet campground.

We had a great time at Little Yellowstone. We camp often and wanted to find a new place to go that was close to Fargo/Moorhead. A friend had recommendation Little Yellowstone and we were not disappointed. The kids loved the creek and played in it or around it most of the weekend. Even though I thought the water was sooo cold, it didn't seem to bother them. We will definitely be going back again.

A nice setting, fairly large sites, mostly, but not all are level. A lot of room to run your dog or just run around. Most of the sites are grass and dirt. They're nice, until the big storm hits, and if you have a heavy camper, you may need a tow out. Also: 1) There is a number to call if there's a problem, but there's NO CELL SERVICE. There is no camphost if problems arise. 2) There's quite a bit of noise from the bordering highway, and EXCESSIVE NOISE from the 18 wheelers applying engine braking on the downhill. 3) There was NO TOILET PAPER in the restrooms.... just brown TP rolls. 4) There are water spigots around, but unless you have a key to insert, WATER IS NOT AVAILABLE. .

Campground Response

Appreciate the review water is a press down system no key needed with a timed shutoff. Water has been on since June 1st. Toilet paper has been a theft issue all summer it is filled Mon Weds Fri. If you camped during the week our hours are 8-4 we do rounds twice a day during that time. On the weekends we have a camp host that does rounds twice a day sat and once a day sunday. If there is anything we can do to help you on your next stay drive to the top of the Hill and give us a call because it is true there is no cell service in the park. Here that parents that have kids like mine that are on their cells too much bring them here for the weekend and you will have their full attention. Camp Staff

There are no showers available onsite. Certain times of the year the bugs are awful. Aside from that Little Yellowstone is awesome. We camp here several times a year! Hiking, Kayaking, Park, Basketball court and a place you can play football or baseball, soccer, a big field that is mowed so have fun. Best part is there is no cell reception but you can get it at the top of the hill if needed but in the camp area there isn't any so it makes for a phone free family weekend and bonding time with the kids. We really enjoy this campground it's on our top 5 list of places to camp.

Campground Response

Kay we are working of finding funds to install showers at Little Yellowstone. I cant give a time-frame but it is being talked about.

Great place to relax and unwind. Babbling creek runs behind many of the sites. Grounds were kept clean and camp host was friendly and helpful. Plus, the cooler temps of the valley and Oak trees kept us from getting too hot!

First time camping here and I loved it! Very quiet place other than the traffic on the highway. My kids loved playing in the creek.
