Hidden valley was a perfect visit for us, exactly what we were looking for. It’s honestly like a secret garden, but not much of a secret. The history behind everything was so fascinating to learn. I couldn’t get enough of the sightseeing my husband had to drag me away. My kids really enjoyed seeing all the wildlife doing as they do best. It’s sometimes better than a zoo. The people were outstanding and no=one was ever idle. Everyone stayed busy which was awesome to see. The campground is very nicely kept and always clean, it felt like what we were paying for was a steal for everything that was offered. I can’t wait to visit again! - Review provided by RV Park Recommendations & Reviews Facebook Group

1.  Fredericksburg, only 1.5 hour drive is a great day trip.  A quaint German town with wineries, breweries, the Seed Farm, and a main street that can't be beat for antique shops, craft shops, handmade jewelry, soaps, candles, great German food eateries and more.  Check out these links for all of Fredericksburg’s' activities and details.

2.  Toyota Factory Tour:  On the same road and only 5 miles from Hidden Valley is the Toyota factory that makes Tacomas and Tundras for the US.  They boast making a truck a minute and a tour of the factory is guaranteed to be interesting.  Since it is a working factory there are a few restrictions regarding type of clothing, # of people in the tour group and reservations are required.  Click on the Toyota link for details and reservations.

3.  The Alamo is one of five famous missions in San Antonio, the site of the famous Battle of the Alamo.  Admission is free to all our missions.  They are steeped in historical significance that has impacted the history of the entire nation. They along with the Alamo have just been awarded World Heritage Site status along with only 23 other sites in the US.  These four other Missions can be linked here.

4.  Discover the San Antonio Riverwalk, an urban sanctuary that winds along the San Antonio River and offers a unique cultural experience like no other.  Hundreds of shops, boutiques, restaurants and tropical foliage line the Riverwalk, all below street level.  Visitors can also explore by boat. Learn about San Antonio's rich history aboard a river cruiser from a storyteller that is also the boat captain.  The famous River Walk, downtown, San Antonio is several miles of beautiful San Antonio River frontage.  The original River Walk is teaming with activity and full of restaurants, shops, theaters and beautiful landscaping.  Its newest areas, the Museum Reach and the Mission Reach are the north and south extensions that are much quieter and serene.  They feature gorgeous fountains and waterfalls, larger than life-size art and miles of lush plant-life making you feel like you’re in a tropical paradise.  I suggest the VisitSanAntonio.com website for River Walk and any San Antonio info about places, and events.

5.  For those who love hiking a little more than our Medio Creek Trail affords, there's some great trails at the Medina River Natural Area It's only a couple minutes away and the parks six miles of trails make the park ideally suited to hiking, bicycling, fishing, birding, wildlife observation and nature study.

6.  Natural Bridge Caverns is only 45 minutes north and offers a bit of natural adventure to your travels.  There are various caving excursions, from easy to challenging, to choose from.  The Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch next door is like driving through a safari.

7.  If you’re coming to San Antonio to see your loved one graduate from Lackland AFB Training, this site can be very informative.  We are only 15 minutes from the base.

8.  San Antonio’s newest attraction is THE SAGA, a free presentation of an Art/Music Video drama chronicling San Antonio’s history from ancient times up to today AND it’s shown on the impressive façade of the San Fernando Cathedral.

These are just a few tips and when you arrive we can point out many more if you'd like.  We'll make sure you know the best places to park and routes to downtown and elsewhere.  Feel free to ask us to take care of reservations for you if you’d like.
