Six or seven sites with gravel and full hookups. No amenities at all. Not being maintained accept garbage service. Would not recommend unless you’re in a jam or plan to no spent time in park. No views besides storm damaged trees and brush

This ended up being perfect for us as we needed no amenities. Site was FHU required a little maneuvering but was level and good size. They are still recovering from Hurricane Ian. We never saw any staff. However, if we had a question, we texted, and got an immediate response.

There wasn't any one to check in with or ask information to. Phone number on website doesn't work. Over priced for not getting anything but a spot to park, water, electric and sewer.

I feel they've done a nice job cleaning up after the hurricane. Our lot was clearly marked with its lot number and nicely graveled and easy for us to access and park. I was glad for the instructions ahead of time of where our lot was located. I would like to see picnic tables and campfire rings added to the spots if possible as soon they can do that. That would be a nice touch. We will stay again in the future.

After the park suffered devastating damage from Ian, hats off to the owners for having our site ready working and clean.

Campground Response

I am so happy that you enjoyed your stay and thank you so much for your kind review. We are a small family owned business with my two brothers and myself all chipping in to help my elderly folks run and manage this park that they have had for 38 years. It has been a tough couple of years first with Covid regulations that shut down our bath house then with Hurricane Ian flooding our property with 6-8 feet of water destroying our parents house aka the park office. My brothers have done a fantastic job with the clean up efforts with the 10 mobile homes that were destroyed that needed to be hauled away and all the floating debris from the surrounding area.

Seriously do not recommend. We gave them ample notice we were arriving late. We arrived around 7:30-ish, found our site, our electricity was not working(meter was not on), we attempted to call the number given and no answer, texted and explained issue and was made to think WE were doing something wrong. We checked empty site next to us and the meter was on, we asked if we could just move to that site and were told they could shuffle people around. The next day our electricity was shut off without any notice and when we approached workers they said there was a problem with the main panel board and our power would be off for a “little bit” so they could repair problem. So the original problem with our original site was not our fault. We wondered why sites are not checked before people check in. There is absolutely zero customer service here. I worked in customer service myself, to treat people with no regard after they have paid is just wrong. Do yourself a favor and if planning a trip to Florida, begin shopping for rv parks early so you do not end up as we did, staying at Calusa Cove.

I was prepared for the worst!!! It was better than many of the reviews AND the only ft myers rv park available about 9 months in advance. No wi fi, cable, bath house, toilets. Great local tv. There is some understandable trash from Ian. Good location. As they clearly state…no amenities!!! Being aware helped.

No on-site management - arriving guests are left to find their poorly marked site. No office or phone to call for assistance - only email with 24 hour response time. Site electrical service not up to code - our site circuit breaker kept arcing and only delivered low amperage without popping. Significant hurricane damage with minimal repairs in place, and no ongoing visible attempts at repair. Avoid this park.

Campground Response

This is what happens when you have someone upset that they couldn't extend there stay because we are full. But to respond to his review, Two family members live on-site and the site manager who is also a family member lives in our other RV Park. Yes, the voice component of our phone system has been down since the hurricane but we have been responding quickly to text messages and email in hours not days. Also we have been working on-site and could be easily approached. All electrical services have been cleared by a licensed electrician prior to reopening in January 2023. If there were issues, it wasn't on our end. Yes we were hit hard by the hurricane but our family pulled together and the park looks fantastic. There are drone photos posted on our website to show how great it looks. Plus we added several dump truck loads of stone to better level and drain the sites.

absolutely horrible. photos show a primative camp ground is an understartement. the park still has hurricane debris throughout it. there are a handful of spots redone. however the majority is littered with clothes furniture destroyed pieces of mobile homes and campers. the owner is obviously just gouging workers that are here for clean up and repair for high daily rates. AVOID THIS PLACE IF HAVE ANY OTHER POSSIBLE OPTIONS!!!

Campground Response

Thank you for your review. Yes the cleanup efforts from the hurricane did take longer for the county and FEMA to remove the debris from our park nd the surrounding area. The county landfills were full and the debris had to be trucked to other counties. We are a small family business but we pulled together and have done a great job with the recovery efforts. Drone photos of the post hurricane cleanup efforts are located on our website.

What a mess! Over 2 months since hurricane. Dumped some new gravel it appears. We pulled in and parked. Our hook ups where fine. Then the next day another motorhome pulls in next to us. Electric not working so he ran his generator all night every night we were there. No amenities whatsoever. I called when we got there. No one answered and I never received a return call. Nothing there marked as office. A total mess and seems they do not care to even respond to their customers. I will not ever stay at Calusa Cove again. KC

Campground Response

Thank you for your review. Yes the sites have fresh gravel as part of the post hurricane cleanup efforts. All electrical services were cleared by a licensed electrician before we reopened in January 2023. We are unware of generator running all night. We would have said something to that guest. Yes we are a "Zero Amenity" RV Park. We have that posted on our website in several locations. Our office was actually completely destroyed by the hurricane. Our phone system was damaged by the flooding waters but we have been on top of any emails that were sent by our guest. We are a small family business but we pulled together and have done a great job with the recovery efforts. Drone photos of the post hurricane cleanup efforts are located on our website.

I would not recommend this park to anyone. It is not finished for one. There are dumpsters blocking some of the roads. We were greeted by a man on a zero turn mower and shown our site. No office to check in. Looked for someone to ask a question and none of the permanents knew where the staff or office was, so I called the office number and got a recording, this was at 7:40 PM. The next day at 4:30 PM, we sent a text message as directed by the second call to an answering machine. At 6:30 PM, we got a text message telling us to send an email to an invalid email address. Sent a text message back asking for a valid email address or the office hours to talk to staff. At 3 minutes after midnight we got a return text with a valid email address. Bottom line, there is no staff working this park. The place could be nice, in about 10 years, but with this customer service I will never use this park again. In fact, I am starting a “parks off my list” list and this park is the first one on it. It is hard for me to believe that Roverpass.com even advertises this park.

Campground Response

Thank you for your review, even though it was only one stars, we do value your input. To respond to your comment that the park is unfinished, you are somewhat correct. During our slow period (summertime) we do improvements to the park. We do apologize if this was an inconvenience. Also the park is only 25% developed and we do have plans to expand. This is evident by the drive-thru the park video and photos that are posted on our website. As for not being able to reach anyone. This is a family owned park and my parents who typically man the office go on vacation during the slow season (summertime). We do have staff and other family members that manage the park during this time. I am surprised that my brother who's number is on your reservation didn't immediately respond to your text. We will look into improving and/or notifying our guest to when the office will be unmanned. Warmest Regards

Lack of maintenance, totally unleveled, full of ants, no table available on the site, no facilities/amenities available, and the only trash collector was on the opposite side of the campground...really not good value for a price that is the same than other much better campgrounds.

Campground Response

Thank you for your review, even though it was only two stars, we do value your input. The grass sites are as flat as mother nature will allow and fire ants are notorious all across Florida. We don't like to add chemicals to our grounds as we are pro-environment. We are presently working on a plan to provide Wi-fi service in the near future to the park. We purposely set the trash far from the campground as possible as it attracts various animals and smells bad. If you would have let us know, arrangements could have been made if you were unable to drive to the dumpster on the 24 foot wide paved road that circles the park. Our prices are competitive for what we offer which is a quite quaint peaceful stay. Warmest Regards

An epic vacation! Just a dream! My husband and I were looking all over SW Florida for an RV site for Spring Break 2022. We were blessed to find this amazing Oasis. We are from Bozeman, Montana and really appreciate open space. We pulled into Calusa Cove, parked our RV and just wow! Glamping baby! The open space to walk around with my 2 teenage daughters at night; Being able to take in all the beauty and sounds of nature without a crowd of people; The 5 ft alligator in the pond that bothers no one; The National Park access right behind our RV was spectacular. The owners keep the property very clean and safe. Everyone was so nice and respectful. The views at night are spectacular because you don't get "all" the light pollution from the city (even though you are smack dab in the city). If you are looking for a calm, beachy, outdoor experience, where you are in flip flops and a bikini during all your Florida days and nights, this is the place! Please note, there are no amenities, like a pool, but what you get in exchange for the amenities is - NO multitude of people and crowds, just the delightful beauty of Florida. Check out google maps for the National Forest access road and bring your bikes or E-bikes! P.S. The best advice I received in Florida - There is always someone honking at you... lol I put pic's on Calusa Cove's Google maps page :)

Premium price but low quality! This place is only a good spot to stay if you HAVE to be in the Fort Myers area and everything else is booked. Other than that, I wouldn't recommend this park to anyone. There are no amenities, and even the "office" is on an outside porch of someone's house. The biggest issue I had with this place was the price. You paid top dollar to stay here but end up with low quality lots and an infestation of fleas/ants. I understand they cannot control everything but they didn't even attempt to control anything. You pay for each person that stays in the camper plus each animal that you have but why the extra fees? There isn't anything for you to do there. Not even laundry. Paying the same price you pay for all the other parks around that have a bunch of amenities is just wrong. They are taking advantage of the sold out market. Don't recommend unless you HAVE to, like we did. (not trying to be a Karen, it would have been nice to know what we were getting into.)

Campground Response

Thank you for taking the time to add a review. To address your review, our prices are actually cheaper than the rest of the RV parks in the area and we clearly state that we have "Zero Amenities" and that our Bath and Laundry facilities are closed due to COVID. Yes, you could have paid more and stayed elsewhere but you chose our park, lucky us. We have photos and a video of our park on our website should you take the time to research where you were staying before booking with us. We do spray for fleas and ants and that's part of the cost associated with the extra fee. Plus some people do not clean up after their pets and we need to spend time collecting doggie land mines which is the other part of our extra fee. Wish you all the best Karen.

No internet and no laundry room. No extras at all and way too expensive. $2,000.00 for one month. Would not recommend,

Thank you for taking the time to add a review. We clearly state that we have "Zero Amenities" and that our Bath and Laundry facilities are closed due to COVID. Our most expensive month is February at $1,600.

Expensive for the level of amenities. My wife was bitten badly by fire ants while standing on a small area of crushed stones to help me back into site 10.

Campground Response

Thank you for taking the time to add a review but we clearly state that we have "Zero Amenities". I do feel for your wife as I've lived here all my life and I have learned that the bugs actually rule Florida.

I do not recommend this park! Site was parallel to their back fence. Very tight getting in and even more difficult leaving. Many long term residents at this park. There was dog poop next to our hookup area on arrival. The first morning, we had even more dog poop around the whole RV. They cleaned it up and said fellow long term RVers were told to clean up after their pets. Park had a weird vibe, we only stayed two nights.

Campground Response

Thank you for your review, even though it was one star, we do value your input. We are working on a plan for the 4 RV sites along the fence. We acknowledge that getting in and out of these 4 RV sites require a little more of an experienced driver. We do have about 25% of the park as happy long term guest. We see this as a positive sign that they are happy to stay long term. We are not a commercial park chain, but a small 30-yr old family owned park. We get the same guest coming each year and we live in the park with some of our family as well. I do apologize for the dog poop but are pleased to hear that our staff not only took care of the issue, but even sanitized the entire area. Sorry you didn't enjoy your stay.

The check in office is impossible to find without help from another person pointing out where it is. There was an Open sign on the side of the building but it wasn't on. It looks like it's part of the other RV park right next door.. The park itself is no frills which is mentioned on their site. Just a couple loops of road with thr sites along it. Most of the loops are undeveloped. The temporary sites (which we were in) are basically 2 narrow RV spots shoved between permanent mobile homes. Our mobile home neighbors were actively hostile toward me and my kids. Heard one of the neighbors cursing about kids being against the rules and he was planning to sue. No where on the site or campground regulations (which is a completely blank website page) does it mention kids aren't allowed. They had a handyman come over at 8:30pm to start hammering on their back porch. We heard another long term resident using a circular saw at night, in the dark. The site itself that we were in was narrow with a steep hill on the door side of the trailer. The sewer connection was 8 to 10 inches above ground level, so it was very difficult to dump our tanks properly. There was also some sort of animal scratching on our trailer every night (we think racoon).

Campground Response

Where as we don't like to see one star, we do appreciate feed back to improve. Due to COVID our office has been closed and have stated to text our site manager for assistance. As you mentioned and stated on our website the RV sites are all large grass lots and yes most of the property is undeveloped. Most people enjoy that fact. We do apologize that you had a rude neighbor during your stay. That happens sometimes. As for the noise, we have talked to both parties stating that they must follow the rules and regulations on noise. Thank you for letting us know that the rules and regulations somehow were missing on our website. That problem has been corrected. For the rest of your comments, welcome to RV life. Best Regards.
