Pyramid Lake is known as being North America's most beautiful prehistoric desert lake and home to many year round recreational activities.
Pyramid Lake Marina and RV Park is located near the iconic Nevada town of Reno, and is the perfect camping spot for anyone who loves great casino games, historic sites, activities and outdoor terrain. Plus, RVers at the park can expect warm days, cool nights and clear skies for stargazing and sunset/sunrise viewing.
Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribal members maintain residency within their ancestral homelands. The main reservation stretches about 70 to 80 miles northward, encompassing Pyramid Lake and several mountain ranges totaling 1.5 million acres. Paiutes named themselves according to the predominant diet found in their homeland, the Cui-ui being a fish species in Pyramid Lake found nowhere else in the world. Pyramid Lake Paiutes called themselves Cui-ui-dicatta, or Cui-ui eaters. Consider yourself a guest of the Cui-ui-dicatta.
Amenities and Activities
Travelers can expect a ton of great activities near the campground. Some traveler favorites include: canoeing, kayaking, swimming, hiking, fishing, and boating. Amenities at the park include: pull thrus, restrooms, showers, self-service coin-op laundry, beach access, marina, walking trails, 30 amp sites, water and sewerage, badminton, horseshoes, and picnic tables.
Visitors please note that the Park is dated and was created to welcome much smaller RV's than the giant RV's and "glampers" of today. During the hot summer months when campers want to run multiple air conditioning units and other appliances we run into problems. Please use the electrical system conservatively and with care. We advise you to bring a generator to make your stay as pleasant as possible.
Visitors can expect great local attractions such as:
- Grand Sierra Resort
- The Peppermill
- The Atlantis
- Mt. Rose
- The National Automobile Museum
- Greater Nevada Field
- Reno Air Racing Association
- The Discovery Museum
RVers at the park can take advantage of the inexpensive RV accommodations compared to nearby hotels.
Reserve early to hold your site. Hope to see you soon!
All RVers please call (775)-575-2185 the park is full at this time so please call first. Thank you.
