The Cooks Ferry Campground is located in the beautiful town of Fairfield, Texas and is a great spot for an authentic southern vacation. Onsite, travelers can expect a breathtaking natural scenery with plenty of space on the water for fishing, canoeing and kayaking, as well as space on land for hiking, biking, OHC riding and horseback riding. For nature enthusiasts, there's a ton of great activities just beyond the campground. There's also the Texas ZipLine Adventures, Texas State Railroad Palestine Depot, Scarborough Renaissance Festival, and a host of excellent local eateries, bars, galleries and museums. The Galveston Bay RV Resort is located in the beautiful town of Baytown and is a great spot of an authentic Texas vacation. Campers can look forward to a number of nearby water-related activities at places like the gorgeous pond at the Bay Town Nature Center, Pirates Bay Waterpark, and there's also quiet a few public parks like the Roseland, Allenbrooks and Jenkins Parks. The Baytown Historical Museum is a camper favorite, as is Goose Creek Park. There's also the Evergreen Public Golf Course, Baytown Public Marina, Coushatta Casino and the Gulf Greyhound Dog Track. There's also a long list of excellent restaurants and picnic areas, and many out-of-town travelers are sure to pause at dusk with a small snack to enjoy the sunset and stargazing.  The San Jacinto Monument (tallest in the USA) & Battleship Texas, were about a half hour away. Other attractions visited within an hour of the campground include: The Beer House, The Orange Show, Smither Park Folk Art, Mount Rush Hour, Lighthouse Water Tower, 2/5th White House, and the National Museum of Funeral History.
