Nestled in the rolling hills of Winchester, California is the beautiful Lake Skinner Recreational Area, offering visitors expansive natural vistas and invigorating recreational opportunities, including picnicking, hiking, horseback riding, sailing and fishing. This popular regional park is located just a few short miles east of the Temecula Wineries, close to the bustling communities of Murrieta and Menifee. Activities and Amenities There is a 1.5 mile trail loop around the park and one fishing area designed to provide better accessibility to rustic shoreline fishing. There are two playgrounds. The campground is designated for older children (12 and up), and the playground near the splash pad is designed for children under 12 years of age. We are a year round 76 acre resort nestled in Heritage Valley at the foot of Ventura County's highest mountain, Topa Topa. Enjoy clean fresh air as well as a forest setting close to a cascading stream. Quiet, lots of wildlife, views, clear star lit nights and only 15 minutes from the ocean. We are just off the scenic highway toward the resort communities of Ojai and Santa Barbara. We offer accommodations from rustic to deluxe! We have glamour tent sites and primitive (no electric) tent sites, most with lots of shade and close to water, restrooms and showers. Our authentic style tipis come partly furnished with a queen and twin matress on frames, along with an additional mat, plus wicker chairs to sleep four.Two additional mats are available for a fee.Be sure to bring all bedding and camping supplies. Water is nearby, restrooms and showers are a short walk away. Bring flashlights and lanterns as there is no electricity. We also have large, shady RV pull-thrus and patio sites all with 50/30 amp service! Fully furnished lodges come complete with linens, towels, kitchen supplies, full size appliances, 38' flat screen TV's, DVD player, central heat/air and an oversized deck with a gas BBQ grill. We even provide you with your own fire ring and seating. Lodges can accommodate up to six guests. Improvements are happening thoughout the park, so pardon us while we are renovating, building and upgrading our buildings, sites and amenities to make this your favorite campground!
