Abrams Creek is more like a nature preserve than a commercial campground. On our campground, there are no generators, loud electronics, or other things that would distract from appreciating the sights and sounds of this pristine natural environment. Campsites and cabins are well spaced out, so that there is never a feeling of crowding. The campground has 20 acres of hemlock forest bordered by a wild whitewater stream. Some areas are boulders, pools, and turbulent water—great to watch or play in. One large area towards the end of the campground is a calm wading area good for children (with careful supervision of course), and just past that is a deeper section, 5’-7’ deep, that is good for swimming.

Choice Camping Court was born in 1969 by the idea of Harold and Doris Wertz as a small 10 site campground on family farmland. They ran the campground for 40 years with smiles and humor every day. Harold was the biggest jokester and Dorie the sweetest lady you’ve ever met! Doris was involved in the Military Mothers and Harold was a retired USPS man. To this day, still owned and operated military, we appreciate all that military men and women do for our country.The campground continues to be run by family, Troy and Charles (Chip) Wertz own and operate the now 220 site campground. The campground offers full hook-up, water/electric, and tent sites. The *** river offers many great opportunities for fishing or floating in a raft on a hot day.This campground holds value to old fashion camping that involves sitting around the campfire with family. Some of our oldest campers have been here for 30 years! We are true to our campground family and love to meet new members each day.We are moving into the 21st century with online reservations and WIFI but nothing compares to our weekend activities of bingo and fire sessions. For 44 years, the Wehr family has been accommodating guests that come to enjoy the bountiful offerings of family recreation and leisure attractions offered at the jewel of Western Pennsylvania, Moraine State Park. In 1975, Robert Wehr and his wife, June, purchased a nearly 60-acre rolling agricultural land tract along Moraine State Park's southwestern border that featured immediate access to Lake Arthur.
