The Stallion Campground is located at Caballo Lake State Park, a beautiful New Mexico oasis. This spot is popular for its excellent nature trails for hiking and bird watching, climbing and horseback riding.

The Lost Canyon Campground is located in the Elephant Butte Lake State Park is one of the most central to the lake of all the campgrounds in the area. Campers here can enjoy a plethora of great activities such as water skiing, fishing, swimming, boating, canoeing and paddle boarding, as well as enjoy local attractions in the city. Nearby is a visitor center (on Broadway) with tons of helpful guides so you can get the most out of your stay. There's also a museum for visitors to peruse and a ghost town nearby. Also be sure to look up at night to see the spectacular light show iconic of the southwest.

The Pancho Villa park is home to numerous historical exhibits from the battle that happened at this small town in 1916. History buffs and New Mexico enthusiasts alike flock to this site to see the museum which is free for campers, and to experience the remnants of this crucial part of the Mexican- American war. The park is also only a few miles from the southern border, so if you cross, be sure to visit the Pink Store. If you like the iconic desert terrain of New Mexico, you'll especially love this park, and the sights of those beautifully red sunrises and sunsets the area is known for.

Lower Karr Canyon Campground is an undeveloped campground scattered across the Karr Canyon Picnic Area. Explore the Lincoln National Park with its densely forested areas, beautiful hiking trails and clear skies. Standing over 7,500 feet above the desert floor, campers can enjoy warm weather that's not too harsh, and plenty of fresh air. Also take advantage of the horseback riding, biking and wildlife watching at this site for a true taste of untouched New Mexico terrain.

Facing the Sacramento mountains to the east, the Elks Lodge 1897 is for members and visiting Elks only, and is a quiet place to get away for a few days. With full hookups, 30/50 amp sites, laundry facilities, showers, restrooms, WIFI and a restaurant on-site, this is a Alamogordo favorite. Located in the Lincoln National Forest, New Mexico are the Bluff Springs Dispersed Campsites. It is a partially developed picnic area with dispersed campsites with spectacular mountain views, and beautiful forestry all around. Take one of the trails around clumps of wildflowers, and be sure to catch at least one sunset or sunrise; have a camera handy! There's also a few small waterfalls within the park so keep your eyes open for that! Most visitors to this site go off to the Cloudcroft village to take advantage of the local sights and do some gift or food shopping. Maybe you'll be in time for one of the three annual festivals that take place in Zenith Park in the village.

With plenty of open, grassy spots for sports, and lots of wildlife in the surrounding forest, this campground is a popular one for group activities like star-gazing on the park's many clear nights. Located near Alamogordo and Cloudcroft, it's also well-known for groups wanting to explore those two urban centers and the great culture and dining to be experienced there. It's also a quarter mile from the Rim Trail, which is popular for mountain biking, hiking, and horseback riding. Other nearby trails are open to ATV enthusiasts.
