Nearby are restrooms and showers, and if you have a tent to pitch, there’s lots of room for you to spread out. They also provide fire ring and picnic table, and for fun activities, the sight offers a basketball and volleyball court, playground and horseshoe pit. And for fishing on the creek, they have a private boat ramp and the bass are almost hopping in the boat. For the walkers and hikers, there are plenty of trails to chart, and the lake to splash in, to cool off on those hot summer days. Not far is the Bankhead National Forest is the Sipsey Wilderness, known as "The Land of a Thousand Waterfalls," and home to an abundance of streams, old-growth forests, limestone bluffs and lush canyons.   Did I say this was a gem?
