Bear Branch Horse Camp is centrally located in the beautiful 280,000-acre Shawnee National Forest just above Lusk Creek Canyon. Named after a creek that runs through the property, Bear Branch offers multiple access to the most scenic riding and hiking trails in the forest. Bear Branch features cabins and lodging with private baths, 80 campsites with hookups and highlines, a shower house with laundry facilities, heat and air conditioning, and a General Store and Tack Shop. For your horses, there are corrals (approx. 100′ x 100′) and numerous 12′ x 12′ pens, high lines at all campsites, and a barn with 40 box stalls. There is a 2-acre fishing pond and a playground and recreational area to enjoy. Whether its for a night or two, we hope to see you soon!

Located between both Kentucky and Barkley Lakes the opportunity for adventure is in every direction that you head, venture north to visit Mantle Rock “Trail of Tears” and Joy Falls or venture further South on HWY 453 into Land Between the Lakes to see the Elk & Bison or LBL’s 1850’s Homeplace, then on your way back to camp stop in at Downtown Grand Rivers to enjoy dinner at the Cabin Pizza, Hamburger Patti’s, or the Thirsty Turtle.

We are a family owned and operated campground on beautiful Kentucky Lake. All of our daily/monthly campsites are waterfront. Our grounds feature a marina including boat slips, launch ramp and a fish cleaning station, and for the kids, a swimming pool, playground and game room.
