The Valles Caldera National Preserve, the hot springs at Jemez Springs and Bandelier National Forest are nearby attractions. La Cueva is the nearest town, and there you can find convenience stores for supplies and various local eateries and restaurants. You can also enjoy river and stream fishing, hiking, biking, horseback riding and picnicking at this park. Spots are filled on a first come first serve basis, and there are only a few amenities such as: picnic tables, Rv hookups, water and fire rings. 3 miles west from Ghost Ranch Education & Retreat Center is the Echo Amphitheater, a favorite among serial visitors to Abiquiu, New Mexico. Schools, clubs and vacationers take advantage of the covered picnic areas and Echo Amphitheater Trail. The last part of the trail has steep stairs leading up to the Echo Canyon, where the rocks are a natural habitat for snakes, so be sure to stay on the trail and off the rocks!
