Eighty miles south of Eugene, Winston is a small town in the scenic Northwest. Oregon is a state of natural beauty and Winston is no different. Forests, lakes, and the Pacific make this state a natural playground. Winston is close to a couple of state parks and there a few RV parks in the area, including several other campgrounds. One of the biggest and most exciting attractions in Oregon is located just two miles down the road from Winston. The Wildlife Safari is a 600-acre zoo where visitors can drive through, much like an African safari. In a large wooded area, nearly 550 rare and wild animals are allowed to run free. Visitors to the park can enjoy watching zebras, giraffes, lions, elephants, bears, elk and tigers. The Wildlife Safari is one of the top tourist attractions in Oregon. There are three RV parks within a short distance from the safari – South Fork RV Park, Umpqua Safari RV Park and River Bend RV Park.

Just over 50 miles east of Winston is one of the largest national forests in Oregon – Umpqua National Forest. Nestled in the slopes of the Cascade Mountains, which were shaped by large geologic events. This distinct forest offers some of the best views in the state. The park boasts several campgrounds and RV Parks in the parks four districts – Diamond Lake Ranger District, Cottage Grove Ranger District, North Umpqua Ranger District and Tiller Ranger District.
