About Gold Run

Gold Run, California Campgrounds and RV Parks

Named after its history of gold mining during the California Gold Rush, Gold Run still contains golden views and outdoor entertainment. Gold Run is located a few hours north of Sacramento and is tucked between two large, national forests – Plumas National Forest and Eldorado National Forest. Both parks offer exquisite views and options for campgrounds and RV parks.

Southeast of Gold Run, Eldorado is one of the largest national forests in California. It is also one of the most visited parks in the state, with over 2.1 million visitors per year. The park boasts hundreds of miles of trails and roads, and offers more than 80 campgrounds and picnic areas, as well as RV parks. Multiple lakes, rivers and streams allow for water activities and beautiful views.

Nestled in the Sierra Nevada, Plumas National Forest rests Northwest of Gold Run. And, like its neighboring sister Eldorado, Plumas is home to stunning, California views. Canyons and valleys offer breathtaking hiking trails. There are multiple campgrounds on site, as well as RV parks.

Gold Run contains one of the best known RV parks in the Dutch Flat RV Resort. A destination of its own with scenic views, hiking, biking and even good ol’ fashion gold panning.
