About the Park

Looking for the perfect picnic spot or campsite, give Vasa Park Resort a call. Beautiful beach on Lake Sammamish in Bellevue with camping and picnic sites available. Open May 15 - Oct 15.

In 1926 a group of Swedish immigrants living in Ballard were looking for a farm to buy where they might build a retirement home, learn English, and get together with fellow countrymen. they found a thirty-six acre farm with about one thousand three hundred feet of waterfront on Lake Sammamish. The farm even came with a one-eyed horse! The beauty of the farm in its idyllic setting was eventually purchased, and within one year became Vasa Park Resort. Today, Vasa Park Resort remains one of the oldest private parks anywhere in the metropolitan area.

Good clean campsite and right by the lake

We can not say enough good things about Vasa Park! We've been launching our boat here since the early 1990's but, this was the 1st time we brought our trailer and camped. The park is clean and well maintained, there is a grounds keeper that lives on the property year round, the playground thoroughly entertained for our grandsons and they loved the swim area with the diving boards and slides. The fact that this park was founded over 100 years ago by the Swedish Lodges is a huge part of it's overall charm and appeal. Keep up the good work and we'll see you next trip!
