Camping at the Sugarite Canyon is a real treat for a number of reasons. For one, the natural terrain is absolutely captivating. Enjoy the views of the cliffs and forests that are speckled with dozens of shades of green and earthy browns. That being said, get ready for some excellent hiking and biking opportunities, and if you don't see a path, go out there and make one! Hunting and horseback riding is also common, as is wildlife viewing. Keep an eye out for birds, butterflies and plenty of curious deer. At an elevation of over 6,000 feet, campers can also look forward to cool breezes, and clear skies for stargazing.
Amenities at the park include: a boat dock, restrooms, developed campsites, RV electrical hookups, water, showers and a visitor center. We hope you make this your next New Mexico vacation!
