Our experience at Stanton was unfriendly by the camp host staff. No one gave proper directions to the camp for our safety. We had a horrifying experience driving up and down the mountain because of lack of directions. The loud mine and vein mountain camp both gave safety directions for our size rig before we got there to ensure our safety. The camp host John welcomed us by screaming at us for not being in site one since he wasn’t here when we arrived and we parked in the wrong spot. Very rude. We were not informed that the push dig we booked for was canceled in December and we were not informed of the current litigation preventing us from digging on sight and the closest claim is across the desert 3 and 1/2 miles away. John charged my credit card for the month without permission so he reversed the charges when asked. We would never had come to Stanton if we were given all this information in advance and it ruined our 6 months of plans to stay on the west coast. We will not ever return to Stanton because of this. We issued our concerns with Jen on November 6 th. Dominic called and said he likes to handle this in person would it be ok to meet the Thursday of the metal detecting event we said ok. Dominic did not meet us on Thursday as promised, Deb introduced herself to him on Friday and asked when we were meeting, he said sometime tomorrow before the prizes. We met with Dominic for over an hour and shared our concerns again. Dominic said they had a staff meeting the following Thursday then he would get back to us after. We did not receive an answer until the following Monday after thanksgiving. Then Dominic refunded the push dig the deposit and 100.00 for the trouble and applied it to an in house credit to be applied at the loud mine as agreed upon between Dominic and Deb. With all this said would you be satisfied if it were you?

Our time at Stanton was great. It's been along time since we got to go to the desert. The camp hosts are very nice and knowledgeable about the history of Stanton. It is a remote camp so don't forget anything. The facilities are nice and very clean

Participated in metal detector hunts and training provided by very knowledgeable individuals. Seeded hunts were fun and helped refine my detector skills. Hunts into the wild were well organized and in areas where there was definitely gold to be found. The LDMA staff (including a corporate rep) all made the entire time fun and a good learning experience. Having a Minelab rep there for the entire time was very helpful especially for tips and especially for learning about and even using many different Minelab detectors (including the Manticore). Overall it was a great time! And the Stanton crew made sure the people who attended the event were well taken care of. Thanks to everyone who worked hard for another successful event. And the swag/goodies given out was exceptional.

Campground and hosts were great as usual. The activities as part of the Dig looked like fun and we would have joined in but because we choose not to use Facebook we were not in the loop for planing such. So our message is get off this reliance on Facebook as your info media and also use email. Your email did mention the Dig and what did it say, go to Facebook! Just tell us the info with email! 1 star means they filled basic functions. No interaction with John AT ALL! OVER 2 MONTHS... NOT ONE WORD! NANNETTE STOPPED AFTER 2 WEEKS! I wanted to buy equipment but they weren't there the 3 or 4 times I visited the office EVERYDAY! YOU READ THAT RIGHT... EVERYDAY! The phone message says they are there from 9 to 4 everyday and lunch is 12 to one! That's a lie. Also, they no doubt screen there calls as well. I called 8 times and NEVER got them. AND... they never called back... NEVER! I know they screen because 4 minutes after I called the last time to add a few days, my debit card was subtracted. I DON'T LIKE THEM HAVING ACCESS TO MY DEBIT CARD! I will contact the LDMA office and lodge a formal complaint! I AM SO DISGUSTED WITH THEIR TREATMENT OF ME THAT I HAVE PUT MY MEMBERSHIP UP FOR SALE; I only had it since Nov 29 and didn't leave Hawaii 'til March 3rd and signed in a LDMA Stanton on 4/16/22. I am so glad I'm out of there... based on my experience and the hearsay of others (I'm not adverse to name names) if this goes farther, I have numerous example of how despicable and unprofessional these caretakers were toward me.

Campground Response

Cha, Not once did you ask me any questions or talk to me once (John that is) out of the almost 3 months you were here, you didn't come to the office at all , the 3 or 4 times you came to the office was curiously on the only days we had to leave camp. Also there where no phone messages from you until you requested to stay more days ( also the last time we had to leave camp) . This morning when you left you walked right pass me and never said a word to me! Instead you called the office knowing we are not open at 730 am and left a message you were out of here! Please don't get on here and lie, and remember you called out corporate office on us every time we left camp also a coincidence to say the least.
