Krystal Lake Campground

Krystal Lake Campground sits on 60 acres in Michigan's Thumb, about 15 minutes from Frankenmuth and 30 from Saginaw. Three private lakes cover roughly half the property. You can swim off the sand beach, fish from shore, or take out a rental boat or kayak. The water here is ours, not shared with the public. There are 208 sites. Most are water and electric with 30- or 50-amp service, with a smaller number of full hookup sites. We also have wooded tent sites, two rustic cabins, and a park model for guests who aren't bringing anything with them. Sites range from open and level to shaded lakefront. The rest of the property fills a weekend without anyone getting in the car. Heated pool, sand swim beach, three playgrounds, mini golf, an arcade, nature trails, and a camp store stocked with firewood, ice, and the things people forget at home. Three bath houses with hot showers, on-site laundry, a dump station, and Wi-Fi. Themed weekends run through the season, and the community hall covers the rainy ones. The campground opened in 2006 and came under new ownership in 2026. We're putting money into the property while keeping what brings families back year after year. Open mid April through mid October. Vassar is a quiet town a few minutes off the main road. Come for a night on the way north, a long weekend, or the whole season.
