City of Rocks RV offers wide open mountain views at the entrance to the City of Rocks National Reserve. We provide partial hookups (water and electric 20/30/50), "Big Rig" pull-thru sites, Pioneer Bathrooms (rustic outhouse), and the beauty and seclusion of the Silent City of Rocks and the Almo Valley. We are conveniently located 1.25 miles from the entrance to the Park on the City of Rocks Road. Big Rig access has always been limited in the City of Rocks so we made every site large with pull thru access; 24 Pull Thru RV Sites, 20 sites are 60'x35', 2 are 40'x35', 2 are 30'x35'. Public RV dump station is only 1 mile away. Whether you are here to climb, camp, hike, snowshoe, bird, fish, hunt, stargaze, relax, or all the above, we offer the ideal base-camp. We newly opened April of 2020 and as a result we don't yet have mature shade trees and the landscaping is scattered native grasses. We are continuously working on landscaping improvements to make your future stays even better. Whether its for a short or long term stay, we hope to see you soon!

*We are privately owned and not affiliated with the City of Rocks National Reserve.

Open Dates: April 1 to October 21

The Park is designed to provide the best views and largest outdoor area possible. RV's will pull in, in opposite directions allowing them to face away from each other. Double sided pedestals allow hookups from both sides. Hookup space between RV's is 10' leaving ample room for water and electric hookups and slide outs. Each long drive will accommodate two 60' RV sites. The first RV will pull to the forward site allowing the next guest to pull in behind them. There is a public dump station 1 mile down the road. Tent sites have a level pad to set up a tent, picnic table, and fire pit.

We are now open! We are 50 minutes from the I-84 freeway. Take exit 216 to Declo, Albion, Pomerelle, and follow signs to the City of Rocks. Go thru Almo and past the visitor center. Turn right at 3075 S., the pavement ends and we are just up on the right. Get your major groceries before heading out as Burley is the closest grocery store.

City of Rocks National Reserve- You are right at the entrance to the park. Amazing places to hike, climb and explore. My grandfather ran sheep all over this area. My great uncle even put in the handles to climb Bathrock! A must see. Highly recommended.

Castle Rocks State Park- With a fishing pond, 3D archery range, hiking, biking, and rock climbing, this is one of our favorite places ever! Parking requires a $5 day use fee.

Durfee Hot Springs- Crystal clear untreated hot water flows in and out of these relaxing hot tubs and pools. A local favorite after dark or on hot days! Seasonal hours.

Tracy General Store- Great antiques in the oldest continuously running General Store in Idaho. Ice Cream, Sandwich, Salad, Burgers, or the special daily lunch offering. Not speedy or for big groups but a great place to visit and sit awhile. 24 hour Gas and Diesel available.

Rock City General Store & Pizza- Great Pizza and an amazing selection of beer. Pizza is seasonal. Auto parts and repair also available.

Indian Grove and Logger Springs (Almo Park)- You drive through the City of Rocks and drive UP to get here. Hike down into Indian Grove for a great view. Keep driving if you are brave (narrow and steep) to see beautiful pine forests and Logger Springs. Also a local hunting secret.

Pomerelle Ski Resort- Great affordable ski resort 30 minutes from Almo. Lake Cleveland is accessible here during the Summer.

Independence Lakes- Alpine Lakes above Almo/Elba Valley offer fishing and beautiful views. Access from Elba to the trailhead. 3.5 mile hike to the Lakes. Plan on a full day outing.

Outpost Steakhouse- Closed until further notice

The campground was clean and quiet. It was very close to the road through the City of Rocks Reserve. It was nice to have electricity and a fire ring at our campsite. Check in was easy. It will be much nicer when the trees have grown to provide more shade. We will stay here again!

The owners are great! Very thoughtfully laid out. Tent sites have shade structures and picnic tables. Restrooms were cute and very clean. I would definitely stay again. This place will be even more amazing when the trees get big!

The owner was a true resource. He had great suggestions for all interests and greeted us and then gave us our privacy. He is a local and loves where he lives. The place is a gem. We shall return!

We enjoyed our stay at City of Rocks RV. The location is great; just five minutes from the City if Rocks State Park and National Reserve. City of Rocks has many well marked scenic hiking and biking trails. The pull-through sites are perfect for all sizes of RVs; good water and power hookups, new picnic tables on level gravel pads, clean unique pioneer style vault toilets, and a fire ring at each campsite. It has newly planted trees. The owners are very friendly and continue to make improvements.

Campground Response

Thanks Kent, we are glad you could visit.

We enjoyed our stay at City of Rock RV. The site is on the entry road to the national monument, well-marked and a great location. We arrived and found our reserved spot with ease, as the pull-through sites were clearly delineated. We got settled, leveling and connecting to both water and power hookups. There were other groups and friendly neighbors nearby. The vault toilets were clean and well-maintained with western styling décor. The site was as described. The location allowed for warm days and cool nights in May. The owner was quick to respond to a question and we'd certainly return in the future.

Campground Response

Thanks for the review Alison. We look forward to your next stay.

Really convenient and clean location. Not a lot of shade trees, but since it looks like this is a new place they are starting to plant shade trees. Toilets were very clean. Great place stay close to the City of Rock Bational Preserve.

We stayed at City of Rocks RV for three nights and really enjoyed our stay. The spaces are arranged so that each RV is facing in opposite directions and located at opposite ends of each pull-through so that you have some privacy and room to enjoy the views. It was a beautiful spot to watch the storms roll in from, and we were treated to some truly incredible sunsets. My wife also loved watching the cows and was excited to see a couple of cattle drives during our stay. The owner was very nice and helpful and the bathrooms were clean and private. Our neighbors in the campground were also friendly and helpful to us as RV newbies. We really liked the atmosphere at this campground and will definitely stay here again.

Campground Response

We are glad you enjoyed your stay. Spring is a great time to visit the parks.

Clean rv park. It is newer, so trees are growing. The rv pads need to be wider and more level. The owner is very friendly and greeted us upon arrival. Bathrooms are very clean. Would stay again.

Nice facility for a startup camp site. Needs work on leveling RV camp spots. Very courteous operator who works well with public!! I’m sure in 10 years the trees will provide a nice shady camp.
