City of Rocks RV offers wide open mountain views at the entrance to the City of Rocks National Reserve. We provide partial hookups (water and electric 20/30/50), "Big Rig" pull-thru sites, Pioneer Bathrooms (rustic outhouse), and the beauty and seclusion of the Silent City of Rocks and the Almo Valley. We also have tent sites available. Enjoy our new enclosed, leash free, dog play area. We are conveniently located just outside the entrance to the Park on the City of Rocks Road. Big Rig access has always been limited in the City of Rocks so we made every site large with pull thru access. Public RV dump station is only 1 mile away. Whether you are here to climb, camp, hike, snowshoe, bird, fish, hunt, stargaze, relax, or all the above, we offer the ideal base-camp. We newly opened April of 2020 and as a result we don't yet have mature shade trees and the landscaping is scattered native grasses. We are continuously working on landscaping improvements to make your future stays even better. New for 2022, wind and shade fences for the tent areas. We hope to see you soon!

*We are privately owned and not affiliated with the City of Rocks National Reserve.

Open Dates: April 1 to October 24

The Park is designed to provide the best views and largest outdoor area possible. Enjoy our new enclosed, leash free, dog play area. RV's will pull in, in opposite directions allowing them to face away from each other. Double sided pedestals allow hookups from both sides. Hookup space between RV's is 10' leaving ample room for water and electric hookups and slide outs. Each long drive will accommodate two 60' RV sites. The first RV will pull to the forward site allowing the next guest to pull in behind them. Back sites cannot be booked online and will only be used when we are at max capacity. There is a public dump station 1 mile down the road. Tent sites have a level pad to set up a tent, 4 poles for hammocks or a sun shade, picnic table, access to bathrooms and water, and fire pit.

We are now open! We are 50 minutes from the I-84 freeway. Take exit 216 to Declo, Albion, Pomerelle, and follow signs to the City of Rocks. Go thru Almo and past the visitor center. Turn right at 3075 S., the pavement ends and we are just up on the right. Get your major groceries before heading out as Burley is the closest grocery store.

City of Rocks National Reserve- You are right at the entrance to the park. Amazing places to hike, climb and explore. My grandfather ran sheep all over this area. My great uncle even put in the handles to climb Bathrock! A must see. Highly recommended.

Castle Rocks State Park- With a fishing pond, 3D archery range, hiking, biking, and rock climbing, this is one of our favorite places ever! Parking requires a $7 day use fee.

Durfee Hot Springs- Crystal clear untreated hot water flows in and out of these relaxing hot tubs and pools. A local favorite after dark or on hot days! Seasonal hours.

Tracy General Store- Great antiques in the oldest continuously running General Store in Idaho. Ice Cream, Sandwich, Salad, Burgers, or the special daily lunch offering. Not speedy or for big groups but a great place to visit and sit awhile. 24 hour Gas and Diesel available.

Rock City General Store & Pizza- Great Pizza and an amazing selection of beer. Seasonal hours.

Indian Grove and Logger Springs (Almo Park)- You drive through the City of Rocks and drive UP to get here. Hike down into Indian Grove for a great view. Keep driving if you are brave (narrow and steep) to see beautiful pine forests and Logger Springs. Also a local hunting secret.

Pomerelle Ski Resort- Great affordable ski resort 30 minutes from Almo. Lake Cleveland is accessible here during the Summer.

Independence Lakes- Alpine Lakes above Almo/Elba Valley offer fishing and beautiful views. Access from Elba to the trailhead. 3.5 mile hike to the Lakes. Plan on a full day outing.

Outpost Steakhouse- Open now! Steaks, Salads, Burgers.  Wed-Sat 11-9

Overall good experience. Host checked with us for anything needed and gave us information for the area. Nice quiet campground

Great tent sites, near water and latrine. Antler hooks and racks ( and handles? ) noted - cool touch. Some shade provided. Would be nice to have household electric on or near site for AM coffee or shave. Love your plans for future improvement. The trees will be a wonderful addition, and the extra sound barriers will also add comfort. Would have liked to stay longer.

Comfortable and a nice campground. No grass-lots of dirt. Pit toilets are clean and camp host was very kind. No cell signaling you’re on Verizon. T Mobile seemed to work.

Had a great time!! Ross, the camp host, was great, he made sure to have all of our group in the same area and was very helpful. Beautiful country, lots of history and a great weekend! Thanks Ross

The place is new and clean. Had wonderful views. Very easy reservations and owner greeted us within a few minutes of setting up. It was quiet.

It will be a few more years for shade, but this is a delightful spot in a perfect location in the City of Rocks. It has electricity and water, plenty of space, cute, funky outhouses, and delightful views. Really enjoyed our stay.

Great location right at the park entrance. Clean sites and bathrooms! Power and water were great and priced right too. Very easy to deal with and called right back when I left a message.

Campground Response

We are glad you could stay!

Love this little dog friendly campground. It’s new and has lots of young trees planted. In a few years it’s going to be a fantastically shady camping spot. Definitely coming again. Can’t beat the location. Proximity to the city of rocks and Almo is perfect.

Campground Response

Thanks for staying! We will be planting more mature trees in the next few weeks for even more shade in the future!

Second year camping at this spot. It’s great. Just minutes away from the city of rocks and the little town of Almo. The campsite vault toilets are super clean. They’ve planted lots of trees, and though they are small now, they’ll be big a shady in a few years. Definitely coming back.

Great little place! The only downside is the dump station is just down the road( not far) except you have to pay to dump. Owner (Ross) stated the city had to many regulations t deal with for a dump station/FHU on site. Totally understand. I would highly recommend this place if your venturing into the city of rocks!

Campground Response

Thanks Scott, we are continually making improvements. More trees and sun shade poles are going up soon!

Nice RV Park! Josh came around to check on things and left information on things to do and services in the area. Remote but beautiful area.

beautiful area, lots of opportunities for climbers, hikers and rapelling. The shade is very limited, but the host is trying to grow some trees. very close to the actual park. only two cons. 1.) one water spigot shares two spots, easily fixed by taking a "y" connector to split the connection. 2.) dogs barking (continuously) late into the evening from the house 200 yards away from the campground.

Campground Response

Thanks for the review Adam. Our trees are doing great and growing fast! We do use spigot splitters if we get really busy. We have had a litter of puppies that like to play when it cools down in the evening and they have learned to bark at each other. They are mostly all gone now to new homes. Thanks for staying!

We were very happy with this RV retreat. The grounds (new trees) are a work in progress, but were very clean. Spot 22 was okay for our 45 foot motor home, even though there were many other spots that could have accommodated us. The vault toilets were very clean. Best of all was the access to climbing at Caste Rock state park and City of Rocks National Monument.

Great host! Pit toilets but they were very clean. Perfect location!

Nice big sites with reliable power and water, as well. We appreciated the large, clean dog run and folks were responsibly picking up after their dogs. The best perk was the price, and no charge for an extra vehicle. Thanks Ross
