City of Rocks RV offers wide open mountain views at the entrance to the City of Rocks National Reserve. We provide partial hookups (water and electric 20/30/50), "Big Rig" pull-thru sites, Pioneer Bathrooms (rustic outhouse), and the beauty and seclusion of the Silent City of Rocks and the Almo Valley. We are conveniently located 1.25 miles from the entrance to the Park on the City of Rocks Road. Big Rig access has always been limited in the City of Rocks so we made every site large with pull thru access. 24 Pull Thru RV Sites, 20 sites are 60'x35', 2 are 40'x35', 2 are 30'x35'. Public RV dump station is only 1 mile away. Whether you are here to climb, camp, hike, snowshoe, bird, fish, hunt, stargaze, relax, or all the above, we offer the ideal base-camp. We newly opened April of 2020 and as a result we don't yet have mature shade trees and the landscaping is scattered native grasses. We are continuously working on landscaping improvements to make your future stays even better.

*We are privately owned and not affiliated with the City of Rocks National Reserve.

Open Dates: March 2 to October 21

The Park is designed to provide the best views and largest outdoor area possible. RV's will pull in, in opposite directions allowing them to face away from each other. Double sided pedestals allow hookups from both sides. Hookup space between RV's is 10' leaving ample room for water and electric hookups and slide outs. Each long drive will accommodate two 60' RV sites. The first RV will pull to the forward site allowing the next guest to pull in behind them. There is a public dump station 1 mile down the road. Tent sites have a level pad to set up a tent, picnic table, and fire pit.

We are now open! We are 50 minutes from the I-84 freeway. Take exit 216 to Declo, Albion, Pomerelle, and follow signs to the City of Rocks. Go thru Almo and past the visitor center. Turn right at 3075 S., the pavement ends and we are just up on the right. Get your major groceries before heading out as Burley is the closest grocery store.

City of Rocks National Reserve- You are right at the entrance to the park. Amazing places to hike, climb and explore. My grandfather ran sheep all over this area. My great uncle even put in the handles to climb Bathrock! A must see. Highly recommended.

Castle Rocks State Park- With a fishing pond, 3D archery range, hiking, biking, and rock climbing, this is one of our favorite places ever! Parking requires a $5 day use fee.

Durfee Hot Springs- Crystal clear untreated hot water flows in and out of these relaxing hot tubs and pools. A local favorite after dark or on hot days! Seasonal hours.

Tracy General Store- Great antiques in the oldest continuously running General Store in Idaho. Ice Cream, Sandwich, Salad, Burgers, or the special daily lunch offering. Not speedy or for big groups but a great place to visit and sit awhile. 24 hour Gas and Diesel available.

Rock City General Store & Pizza- Great Pizza and an amazing selection of beer. Pizza is seasonal. Auto parts and repair also available.

Indian Grove and Logger Springs (Almo Park)- You drive through the City of Rocks and drive UP to get here. Hike down into Indian Grove for a great view. Keep driving if you are brave (narrow and steep) to see beautiful pine forests and Logger Springs. Also a local hunting secret.

Pomerelle Ski Resort- Great affordable ski resort 30 minutes from Almo. Lake Cleveland is accessible here during the Summer.

Independence Lakes- Alpine Lakes above Almo/Elba Valley offer fishing and beautiful views. Access from Elba to the trailhead. 3.5 mile hike to the Lakes. Plan on a full day outing.

Outpost Steakhouse- Closed until further notice

Really enjoyed our first trip to City of Rocks, and the rv park worked perfectly for us. Nice place, and the owner/manager was very friendly.

Great Spot! Beautiful location! This is a new RV park and the owner/host was very nice! The campground was very clean and well maintained. The landscape naturally has few trees, the owner has planted several trees that will make this camp ground better and better in the future! Some better signs for the camp sites would be great! We did struggle to find our site and the areas to pull through were a little confusing! I Think with the layout of the sites will eventually lead to problems as the sites appear to be two deep. The first arrival can pull through while the 2nd would have to back in. Some better signs around campground and at each individual site would be ideal.

Campground Response

Hi Jana, thank you for staying with us. No need to worry about the 2 deep sites. Only the forward site can be reserved online. They are for groups that want to be close together. We are continually making improvements. 10 new large trees just went in this week!

Great little RV Park. Easy reservation and check in/out process, great location really close to the park. Clean bathrooms! Nicest outhouse I've ever seen. Will definitely stay here next year.

City of Rocks RV was quite nice. Easy pull-through sites, plenty of room. It is still quite basic, as the facility is very new. I think once the landscaping grows up a bit, it'll be really nice. The biggest difficulty for the facility was the lack of signage. We had some issues actually finding the campsite (there's very spotty cell coverage, so I couldn't pull up a map, either) and the sign for the RV park is small and out of the way. It would be helpful to have a sign on the main highway pointing toward the RV park. The signage for the check-in and the amenities was not very clear, either (we really had to hunt for the trash). On the whole, though, the park itself was nicely set up, clean, and very convenient to the National Reserve and the State Park. The area itself is very well worth visiting - such a gorgeous landscape! We'll definitely come back to stay at City of Rocks RV - very pleased with our experience.

Campground Response

Hi Katelyn, we are glad you could stay with us. Good reminder for people to review the online map before they lose verizon service, (At&t is great). Especially if they arrive after dark. We will be improving signage soon.

The campsite was clean and our family had a blast! Make sure to pack enough firewood because there is none sold in town! But this trip is DEFINITELY a must-see!

Campground Response

Hi, we normally sell firewood just up the road from the campground but we must have sold out when you were here. Both stores in Almo also sell firewood. Thanks!

It’s a newer RV park. Owner is very nice, spaces are very close together... trees are babies so non-existent really . No showers, descent pit toilets. It has power and water hook up. Wouldn’t say it’s worth the price though. Stayed at much swankier RV campground for much less.

Campground Response

Hi Heidi, we are glad you stayed. Sounds like you've been to some very nice campgrounds. The atmosphere around City of Rocks is more of a western, camping feel than city glamping on lawns with swimming pools. Our sites are 35' wide by 60' long. We have just added some new 20 foot trees to help provide shade.

Nice, quiet campground. Pull-throughs with partial hookups (water and electric). Clean and well maintained. The owner (Ross?) stopped by to hand us information sheets and asked if we knew we had a water hose leak. He took the time to try a new washer and then offered us a new hose for $10 (something he had just purchased, just in case). He even hooked it up for us and it worked great. Phone service is zip (apparently unless you have AT&T). It would be great if they could install a hot-spot so people could at least connect to get info like weather, email, hiking/biking info.

Rustic with minimal services. Water, Electric (30/50), vault toilet and trash removal. This is a great addition to the Almo/City of Rocks/Castle Rocks area. Some of the sites are little uneven and hydraulic levelers may be challenged, a couple of block on the low side cured that for us. The sites were easy to get into with out 41' 5th wheel. New RV park with new trees so it will be a while before there is shade. Owner was very nice and bent over backward to ensure we had a good stay.

Campground host/ owner was very accomodating to our changes of planned arrival. Everything worked very well at this convenient site; power, water and nice toilets. Good info on area attractions. Definitely stay there again

Perfect setting.... the stars at night are like nowhere else! Seeing the Milky Way horizon to horizon in perfect clarity... the park is new but I can imagine in a few years when the newly planted trees will be grown up it will be fantastic! Water and electric hookups worked great, spacious sites and gorgeous mountain and open views. Will be back!

We loved camping at City of Rocks RV. Great location and management of the site was awesome. They even provided a paper with things to see and do locally. The only reason I gave it 4 is the camping area doesn’t have any shade yet. Once the trees grow I will give it a five. The bathrooms were super clean and perfect for our boys to use. We plan on coming back. You can check out a few pics of the site on my instagram @youngutah.

Campground Response

Thanks Jonathan, we just added 20' shade trees to most of the sites that should give us that last star!

Great location, very close to City of Rocks, Castle Rocks, and Hot Springs. Campground is simple and very clean, best pit toilets I have ever seen! Ross is a fantastic host, he is always close by in case you need anything, even helped us put up our tent and looked up the weather forecast for us since my phone was having connectivity issues. Would highly recommend City of Rocks RV!!

We loved our stay here. It was not very crowded and our spot was right next to the bathrooms and garbage cans. The bathrooms are vault-style, and they are hands down the nicest vault-style bathrooms I’ve ever seen. They don’t stink and they are well maintained and clean. You can tell that a lot of care was put into it- the decor of the bathrooms is really fun with with faux-wood wallpaper and antlers on the doors and as toilet paper holders. I have never before been so impressed by a campground bathroom! The owner was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about the area. The site had electric and water hookups. It’s a dog-friendly campground, and there is a small enclosure meant for dogs to do their business, which is a fantastic idea, because my dog won’t go while on a leash. My only bit of feedback is that the sites could be more level. We will definitely stay again!

Campground Response

Thanks for staying! We always enjoy seeing families having a good time!
