City of Rocks RV offers wide open mountain views at the entrance to the City of Rocks National Reserve. We provide partial hookups (water and electric 20/30/50), "Big Rig" pull-thru sites, Pioneer Bathrooms (rustic outhouse), and the beauty and seclusion of the Silent City of Rocks and the Almo Valley. We also have tent sites available with elevated tent pads, wind fences, shade tarps, 15 amp power, hammock poles, and bathroom, water, and garbage access. Enjoy our new enclosed, leash free, dog play area. We are conveniently located just outside the entrance to the Park on the City of Rocks Road. Big Rig access has always been limited in the City of Rocks so we made every site large with pull thru access. Public RV dump station is only 1 mile away. Whether you are here to climb, camp, hike, snowshoe, bird, fish, hunt, stargaze, relax, or all the above, we offer the ideal base-camp. We newly opened April of 2020 and as a result we don't yet have mature shade trees and the landscaping is scattered native grasses. We are continuously working on landscaping improvements to make your future stays even better. New for 2024, improved wind and shade fences for the tent areas and 15 amp power at each site! We hope to see you soon!

*We are privately owned and not affiliated with the City of Rocks National Reserve.

Open Dates: April 3 to November 12

We are now open! We are 50 minutes from the I-84 freeway. Take exit 216 to Declo, Albion, Pomerelle, and follow signs to the City of Rocks. Go thru Almo and past the visitor center. Turn right at 3075 S., the pavement ends and we are just up on the right. If you are traveling from Utah, travel to Malta, then hwy77 to Almo. Dont shortcut on gravel. Get your major groceries before heading out as Burley is the closest grocery store.

City of Rocks National Reserve- You are right at the entrance to the park. Amazing places to hike, climb and explore. My grandfather ran sheep all over this area. My great uncle even put in the handles to climb Bathrock! A must see. Highly recommended.

Castle Rocks State Park- With a fishing pond, 3D archery range, hiking, biking, and rock climbing, this is one of our favorite places ever! Parking requires a $7 day use fee.

Durfee Hot Springs- Crystal clear untreated hot water flows in and out of these relaxing hot tubs and pools. A local favorite after dark or on hot days! Seasonal hours.

Tracy General Store- Great antiques in the oldest continuously running General Store in Idaho. Homemade Ice Cream! 24 hour Gas and Diesel available. Closed Sundays

The Lunchroom- Great burgers and fries. Sandwiches, etc. Not speedy or for large groups. Open 11-3. Closed Sundays.

Rock City General Store & Pizza- Great Pizza and an amazing selection of beer. Limited Seasonal hours.

Indian Grove and Logger Springs (Almo Park)- You drive through the City of Rocks and drive UP to get here. Hike down into Indian Grove for a great view. Keep driving if you are brave (narrow and steep) to see beautiful pine forests and Logger Springs. Also a local hunting secret.

Pomerelle Ski Resort- Great affordable ski resort 30 minutes from Almo. Lake Cleveland is accessible here during the Summer.

Independence Lakes- Alpine Lakes above Almo/Elba Valley offer fishing and beautiful views. Access from Elba to the trailhead. 3.5 mile hike to the Lakes. Plan on a full day outing.

Outpost Steakhouse- Steaks, Salads, Burgers.  Seasonal hours.

We have stayed at City of Rocks RV several times in both the Tent and the RV sights. It was clean and close to the park entrance. There are clean bathrooms, fresh water, picnic tables and fire pits. The sights are large with plenty of space to entertain!

Super convenient location if you're visiting Almo, the City of Rocks National Monument or Castle Rock State Park. The owner lives nearby if you need anything/ self serve firewood at his front door. He was very responsive to my voicemail about staying an extra day via text. Venmo is an option for firewood and additional stay payments. Cell service/ T-Mobile worked here for us. We would stay here again if in the area and City of Rocks Rv is Big Rig friendly

Campground Response

Thanks for the informative review!

First time visiting the City of Rocks and also staying at City of Rocks RV and we loved it! Loved being so close to the park and trails - my husband and I went for a morning run leaving right from the camp, headed-up the road and hit a trail. It was beautiful! Luckily, we didn't have anyone right behind us so we had beautiful views every morning! Weather didn't play nice so we didn't get to explore as much as we had hoped so we'll just have to come back! Ross was very helpful and we appreciated the handout he had for us with recommendations on places to go and eat! The pizza place off main street was awesome!

Campground Response

Thanks for staying! Lots of rain this year for sure.

We had a great stay at the City of Rocks RV park in Almo, Idaho. The park was clean and the owner was awesome. The restroom was very clean but stunk to high heaven. A restroom with Flush toilets and running water would be a lot better. All in all we had a great time and would always stay here on our next outing at The City of Rocks.

Campground Response

We are glad you and your family could stay with us! The wind can make the bathrooms vent excessively if it's just right. We will make sure they stay clean and deodorized!

What a beautiful place! The campground is accurately described. The young trees they have installed are well cared for and well on their way. We were able to enjoy some shade from them later in the afternoon. The campground owner is very responsive and helpful. Customer service is 5 star. The outhouses are the cleanest outhouses we have ever encountered. This is a very well kept campground and we will definitely be back.

Campground Response

Thanks for the lovely review! We are happy we finally have some shade from our trees. Come again soon!
